Christina Anstead gets inspirational Maya Angelou quote tattooed onto her back post divorce

Christina Anstead has tattooed an empowering Maya Angelou quote onto her body in the aftermath of her divorce from Ant Anstead.

The HGTV star, 37, posted an Instagram photo of the elegant new inscription, inked upon her upper back.

‘Still I rise,’ the cursive lettering read.

The quote was from the Angelou poem Still I Rise, and Anstead posted an excerpt of the work into her caption.

”Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still I’ll rise,” Anstead posted, along with a credit to the iconic poet.

The elegant ink was tattooed vertically upon her spine, and was visible as Christina lifted a mass of her blonde hair for the camera.

Newly single following her divorce from Ant, the inspirational tattoo is just another sign Anstead is moving on with her head held high.

The couple were married for less than two years when Anstead announced they had decided to separate. She subsequently filed for divorce just a few months later.

During their short marriage, they welcomed a son, Hudson London Anstead.

Anstead also shares daughter Taylor, 10, and son Braydon, five, with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, whom she was married to until 2018.

Though divorced, the exes are now on good terms and still cohost their HGTV series Flip Or Flop together.  

‘We’re coparenting, we’re filming [Flip or Flop], we’re business partners, so things are going better than they’ve been in a long time,’ El Moussa recently told Us Weekly.

El Moussa is now engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, who is also involved in the lives of their children.

‘They coparent too. It’s strictly business, but yeah. Everybody gets along. … If I need the kids or she needs the kids, we’re flexible,’ he said.
