Selena + Chef: Selena Gomez serves up more fiery missteps in the kitchen in new trailer for season 2

Selena Gomez may be able to belt out a tune or slip seamlessly into a role for a film, but when it comes to cooking she admittedly has lacked skills.

But that’s not stopping her from heading back to her home kitchen, alongside world-renowned chefs amid COVID-19, for season two of HBO’s Selena + Chef.

And on Monday the official trailer dropped, giving fans a taste of what’s to come when her popular home-cooking show returns January 21.

She’s back! Selena Gomez gives a taste of what’s to come in the official trailer for season two of HBO’s home cooking show — Selena + Chef

‘As you all know by now I’m not the best cook,’ Gomez confesses in the teaser before adding that she’s ‘not going to stop trying to get better.’

‘So I’m back in my kitchen to get schooled by the best chefs,’ the Come & Get It singer declares as her song Dance Again, from her hit studio album Rare, plays in the background.

Like last season, the show’s other leading star, Gomez’s grandfather, adoringly known as Papa, is back for more fun.

This go-around the pop princess will be teaming up with cooking experts Aarti Sequeira, Curtis Stone, Evan Funke, Graham Elliot, JJ Johnson, Jordan Andino, José Andrés, Kelis Rogers, Marcela Valladolid and Marcus Samuelsson.

‘You look a bit nervous,’ Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone can be heard asking Gomez as she prepared to dive into a dish.

‘I am — how did you pick up on that,’ she responds while blushing with a big smile on her face.

Even with their help, it doesn’t take long before the Texas native experiences some more fiery missteps when a pan catches on fire and sets off an alarm.

Season one, which ran through August 2020, showcased Gomez’s lack of experience in the kitchen.

But by the time of the finale she learned some valuable lessons from a cast of chefs that included Angelo Sosa, Antonia Lofaso, Candice Kumai, Daniel Holzman, Jon & Vinny, Ludo Lefebvre, Nancy Silverton, Nyesha Arrington, Roy Choi, and Tanya Holland.

Since then, fans have gotten another taste of the show with her holiday special — Selena + Aarti: Friendsgiving — that dropped ahead of Thanksgiving in November.

With the help of Food Network star Aarti Sequeira, Gomez cooked a turkey for the first time as part of the holiday celebration she shared with her grandparents and best friends.

Season two of Selena + Chef will be available on HBO Max on January 21, 2021.
