KIIS FM: Polly ‘PJ’ Harding reveals how her long-term boyfriend proposed

Melbourne radio host Polly ‘PJ’ Harding recently became engaged to her boyfriend of more than two years, known to listeners as BJ.

And the 30-year-old, who co-hosts the Jase and PJ breakfast show on KIIS 101.1, revealed on Tuesday how the proposal went down.

She said BJ didn’t even have the chance to ask ‘Will you marry me?’ before she cut him off impatiently the moment he pulled the ring from his pocket.

Before he popped the question, PJ risked spoiling the moment by firing a ‘million questions’ at her fiancé because he was acting so ‘strangely’. 

‘I was back in New Zealand. I had no idea and I was completely surprised. I did spy a text message on his phone a couple of days beforehand that he had sent to a jewellery store but I thought that was about a Christmas present,’ she explained. 

‘I had also noticed two bottles of Moet hidden and wondered why we had them… When he asked me to go for a walk on the beach, I thought that was weird.

‘Then I noticed he had something in his pocket and I launched into a million questions: “What’s in your pocket?”, “What have you got there?” [I was] wrestling him on the beach, jumping about… the poor guy.’

That’s when BJ, who had planned the proposal for six months, pulled out the muscle shell, which had ‘the most divine ring’ inside.

‘I said yes straight away,’ PJ said. ‘BJ didn’t even get to ask the sentence, “Will you marry me?”

‘It was a really amazing day. We were joined by family afterwards and enjoyed the champagne! BJ had been planning the proposal for over six months, which is very special.’

PJ returned to the airwaves an engaged woman on Monday after flying from New Zealand to Melbourne over the weekend. 

The Kiwi media personality had spent the non-ratings period in her home country, and BJ proposed to her on December 22.

The couple have yet to confirm a wedding date.
