Zack Snyder reveals he wants to make an Elektra Lives Again movie for Marvel… 16 years after Jennifer Garner starred in Elektra
While director Zack Snyder is fully entrenched in the DC Comics world, with his ‘Snyder cut’ of Justice League debuting on HBO Max later this year, the filmmaker recently revealed which Marvel movie he would like to make.
The 54-year-old filmmaker was a guest on Comic Book Debate last week, where he was asked what Marvel movie he would like to make, and he revealed it would be Elektra Lives Again.
Elektra Lives Again was a 1990 graphic novel by Frank Miller and Lynn Varney, following the beloved character Elektra Natchios, who was previously played on screen by Jennifer Garner.

‘I would choose Elektra Lives Again. Do you know that Frank Miller comic book? It’s a graphic novel about Elektra,’ Snyder began.
‘Daredevil is having these dreams about Elektra coming back to life, and it’s really cool and weird…,’ the director added.
‘It’s just cool, and beautiful. That’s what I would do. No one cares, but that’s what I would do,’ Snyder said.

The director didn’t comment on whether or not he would want Jennifer Garner to return as Elektra or not.
The 48-year-old actress first portrayed Elektra Natchios in 2003’s Daredevil, alongside her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
She returned to reprise the role in 2005’s Elektra, alongside Goran Visnjic and Terrance Stamp, though it failed to make a dent at the box office.

Elektra earned just $24.4 million at the domestic box office and $56.9 million worldwide from a reported $43 million budget.
The Elektra character returned in the Netflix Daredevil series, with Elodie Yung portraying the sai-wielding superhero.
While there are no concrete plans for Snyder to make Elektra Lives Again, or any Marvel movie for that matter, he has indicated that he’s done making DC movies.

‘This is a years-old movie I’m working on. The DC universe has gone and branched off and done its own thing and that’s fine…as far as what I did and as far as what my vision for what I wanted to do with these characters and the journey I wanted them to go on, it’s well known that I planned on more movies — five movies or something — but I’m busy. I’ve got a lot going on,’ Snyder said.
‘Is it cool that the fans have so much faith in the trajectory? Yes, it’s amazing, and I couldn’t be happier and I’m excited for them to see Justice League so they can really drink the entire elixir of Justice League. But would I continue? I have no plan to. But like I said, I didn’t think I’d be here, so who knows?’ he added.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which will be presented as a four-hour mini-series, will debut on HBO Max in March.
