‘The double standards are ridiculous’: Fans accuse I’m A Celebrity’s Julia Morris of being ‘a hypocrite’ after she said people should ‘stop talking about other people’s bodies’ on The Project

Julia Morris infuriated viewers during her appearance on Monday’s episode of The Project, when she said people shouldn’t comment on other people’s bodies.

The 52-year-old I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! host was commenting on Abbie Chatfield’s run-in with Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico, when he said she was ‘asking for [it]’ by walking around camp in a bikini.

But many viewers took offence to Julia’s comments, and argued that she often makes remarks about the appearance of her co-host on the hit reality show, veterinarian Chris Brown.

‘What a hypocrite. On The Project talking about making comments about others bodies, but 2-3 times a week comments about the “gorgeous Dr Chris Brown”,’ tweeted one person.

Added another: ‘So should Abbie stop commenting on Ash’s body?? So should Julia stop treating Dr Chris like a meat? The double standards are ridiculous. Seriously Julia.’

After being asked about Dipper, 62, and Abbie’s ‘disagreement’, Julia admitted she was shocked by the retired Australian rules footballer’s remarks.

‘I have a pretty simple way forward through this, because there are going to be slight generational differences with what you think about things, but my simple rule is to stop talking about other people’s bodies,’ she said.

‘Stop talking about the dimensions of their bodies. It’s a really simple way forward to not getting yourself into trouble.’

She added: ‘I don’t want anyone commenting on my body and I’m not going to comment on yours.’

As she walked through the show’s campsite wearing just a bikini, Dipper repeatedly told Abbie, 25: ‘As a father, you are not going out like that.’

Fed up, Abbie finally asked him to explain what he meant by the remark, prompting Dipper to tell her it was ‘like you’re seeking attention and asking for [it]’.

‘That’s been said to me like five times in here, and it’s not that it affects me, not that I’m thinking like, “Oh, I should cover up,” it’s just, like, I don’t want that idea to be pushed. It’s just not okay,’ Abbie said on the show last week.
