X Factor’s Cher Lloyd takes a swipe at former boss Simon Cowell

Cher Lloyd has taken a swipe at her former boss Simon Cowell.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday evening, the songstress shared a video implying The X Factor boss, 61, is ‘brainless’, eight years after she left his record label.

The Swagger Jagger star, 27, who finished fourth in the seventh series of the talent show UK in 2010, shared the video of Kelly Peakman’s iconic audition in 2007, in which she stated: ‘Where’s your brain, in your middle toe?’ to a scowling Simon.

Cher was feeling cheeky as she took to Instagram to share the video with her 2.2million followers, in what seemed to be a bold swipe.

Kelly Peakman appeared on X Factor 14 years ago and her audition went down in pop culture history due to some memorable phrases, after she hit out at judges when they mocked her rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.

Over the brief clip, where she uttered the iconic: ‘Where’s your brain, in your middle toe?’ line, Cher penned: ‘For real though…’

Back in 2013, Cher revealed she had parted ways with Simon’s company SyCo and hit out at the music mogul, saying she couldn’t handle the level of ‘control’.

It was claimed at the time that the relationship turned sour after the singer refused to give Simon’s label SyCo complete control over her career.

Explaining the reasons behind the split, Want You Back singer Cher said at the time: ‘I don’t really speak to him anymore. I left his label a year and a half ago and I got my record deal here [America]…

‘I have a specific thing I am reaching for, so I have my own idea of how I’m going to get it. We all have a specific thing in life that we want to get to and I don’t deal very well with people having [control].

‘I think he found me – I wouldn’t say disobedient – but a little bit [difficult].’

But the singer was adamant she wasn’t angry about the move: ‘I don’t think so. I mean, I wouldn’t say angry – I would like to think he misses me now.’

When asked on Real Radio North West if she would ever duet with Cole, the then-18-year-old said: ‘Maybe, if she sings live with me… [it’s] always [a challenge] nowadays when you haven’t got that nifty little button to press.’

Cheryl later took to Twitter in an apparent attempt to reply to her former mentee saying: ‘Be Careful who you kick on your way up … They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly.’

Cher later apologised to the Fight For This Love singer on television, and nothing more’s been heard about the argument.
