The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears video gets fans buzzing as his co-star bears resemblance to Selena

The Weeknd and Selena Gomez split in October 2017 after almost 10 months of dating, with the former lovebirds referencing each other in their music over the years since their breakup.

And one day after The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears music video release, fans are buzzing about the woman cast in it and her uncanny resemblance to Selena.

Her styling – from her hair to her earrings and high-neck frock – appears to be almost identical to looks Selena has rocked.

Similar: One day after The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears music video release, fans are buzzing about the woman cast in it and her uncanny resemblance to Selena.

Selena, 28, has often rocked curly tresses and has even rocked the look in her music video for Dance Again, which was released in 2020.

Fans flooded the YouTube pages for The Weeknd’s Save Your Tears video and Selena’s Dance Again, mentioning how the woman looks like Selena.

The woman starring in his music video is model Bianca Rojas, who sports curly tresses and statement earrings with a glamorous dress.

Another clue fans have pointed out is The Weeknd’s lyric ‘I saw you dancing in a crowded room,’ which could be a reference on how him and Selena met.

In Selena’s song Crowded Room from her Rare album (released in January 2020), she sings ‘Baby, it’s just me and you/ Just us two/ Even in a crowded room.’

While initially fans commented on The Weeknd’s prosthetics in the Save Your Tears video, which appears to be his commentary on excessive plastic surgery, the Selena look-alike has since then been driving fans wild.

In Selena’s Dance Again video, which was released March 26, 2020, she is dancing with curly hair and statement earrings, although the dress is a different style.

The Save Your Tears video opens with The Weeknd, 30, showing off the prosthetics on stage as he sings for a crowd.

His band onstage all have bedazzled masks of their face as he dances around the venue and drinking the audience’s drinks.

The crowd is shown – who are all wearing masks as well and taking all his actions without moving – including him spraying champagne on them.

Half way in the video, Bianca is seen seating down in the crowd – the only one mask free.

She comes on stage and dances with him and smiles and acts flirty while he holds a gun behind his back.

The lights turn off and back on with her holding the gun to his forehead and with him pushing her to pull the trigger.

The song talks about him seeing someone in a crowded room that spots him and starts to cry, seemingly remembering their previous relationship.

He sings that the woman in question could have asked him why he ran off and broke up, breaking her heart, as he describes her walking by him like she didn’t care.

He says that he broke her heart like someone broke his, with the woman not willing to give him a second chance, asking her to save her tears for another day.

Selena and The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, split in September 2017 after a nearly 10-month whirlwind romance.

They were first seen together in early January 2017 kissing each other in Santa Monica.

He reportedly wrote about their relationship in his EP My Dear Melancholy, which was released in 2018.

The Weeknd has previously told Esquire of that album, which takes jabs at someone: ‘The reason why it was so short is like, I think I just had nothing else to say on this…whatever…. It was just like this cathartic piece of art. And yeah, it was short, because that’s all I had to say on this situation.’

When asked by the Esquire reporter who it was about, he said ‘No comment.’

He dated Bella Hadid prior to Selena but the lyrics of My Dear Melancholy songs appear to point at Selena; Bella and Abel dated from September 2015 and split in November 2016 and then they reunited April 2018 and reportedly split August 2019.

The Weeknd’s songs from After Hours includes many references to Bella and Selena.

The model, Bianca Rojas, took to her Instagram to gush about being part of the project.

The stunner wrote: ‘Proud to announce my most recent work for the “Save Your Tears” music video by THE WEEKND!!! @theweeknd. Never had I thought I would share anything like this or even be able to say that I was a part of a project with one of my most favorite artists, but here I am.’

Adding: ‘A huge thank you to the massively talented team that I worked with on this production. The amount of love that goes into his music as well as his videos, speaks for itself with every album he puts out. To be included in the ‘After Hours’ story will always be special for me… and to say that I am blessed would be an understatement. There are really no words to describe how unreal this feels!’
