Pete Evans publicly sends his support to Colin Fassnidge as he replaces him on I’m A Celebrity… after the Irish star spoke about his friendship with the disgraced chef

Disgraced chef Pete Evans has given former MKR co-star Colin Fassnidge his seal of approval to appear on I’m A Celebrity… after he replaced him on the show. 

The controversial star, 48, publicly threw his support behind Colin as he entered the jungle on Wednesday. 

Colin shared a picture of himself in his khaki jungle gear on Instagram, when Pete commented a supportive message underneath.

The Paleo chef commented two red love hearts and a flame emoji underneath Colin’s post.  

‘Well that time I went to Ireland ………. well I lied!!!’ Colin wrote in his caption.

‘After the year we had, why not do it!!!!!! Strap in cos I know what’s coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’

This week, Colin told The Daily Telegraph that Pete ‘wished him well’ prior to the show.  

‘I have known Pete for 10 years, we are friends, we used to live near each other,’ he said.

‘We don’t have to agree with each other’s views, that is what a friendship with someone is. But as a person, I think he is a nice guy.’

Colin was contacted by Channel Ten to appear on the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after Pete shared a cartoon on social media, which had an image of the Black Sun symbol from Nazi Germany on it.

The 48-year-old also sparked outrage last year for his conspiracy theories surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and vaccines. 

Despite this, Colin was adamant the pair were friends and told the publication he did not have to agree with somebody to be friends with them. 

On Wednesday night’s episode, Colin entered the camp in a strange clown challenge, which proved to be difficult for campmates Abbie Chatfield and Toni Pearen, who had to free him from being handcuffed to a clown car.
