‘I was unhappy and insecure’: Lucie Donlan, 22, admits she’s ’embarrassed’ of her teenage image and found confidence with a health overhaul
Lucie Donlan has shared an image from her teenage years and discussed the body confidence battles she has had to tackle through her life.
The Love Island beauty, 22, hosted a Q&A with followers in conjunction with her new Ann Summers collaboration, during which she admitted she was ‘unhappy and insecure’ in her younger years and has only recently boosted her confidence.
Sharing an image from her campaign and another of her young self, she wrote: ‘I’ve never shared any photos from my teens because I’ve always been too embarrassed. I really struggling in my teens with my confidence as I was very insecure.’

Lucie shot to fame on Love Island in 2019 and while she was unlucky in love on the show, she has gone on to find love with fellow Islander Luke Mabbott.
Her stunning good looks and confident demeanor won the heart of viewers, however she has now revealed she has not always been so secure.
During the Instagram Q&A, she spoke of her embarrassment, saying: ‘I’ve never shared any photos from my teens because I’ve always been too embarrassed…
‘But recently I’ve spoken out about this during my interviews launching the new range with Ann Summers. I really struggling in my teens with my confidence as I was very insecure about the way I looked’.

On how she overhauled her attitude, she said: ‘Because I was so unhappy about how I looked and felt, I changed my diet and way of like to feel happier. I exercised more, chose better food options and spent more time outdoors doing different activities!
‘I started to only in the last couple of years to feel confident with my body, but like everyone I still have parts I’ve love to work on.’
Lucie then revealed: ‘I used to cover up a lot and only feel comfortable in a long wetsuit when at the beach, but proud of myself to feel that I love my body so much better now I’ve changed my lifestyle.’

Prior to her latest Q&A, Lucie revealed she asked out Luke as soon as he was single – insisting ‘you’ve got to go for what you want’ when it comes to finding The One.
She admitted she messaged Luke, 25, directly after his split from Demi Jones, 22, having watched him on his series of the ITV2 show.
In an exclusive interview, Lucie told MailOnline she ‘fancied’ Luke the moment she saw him walk into the villa – but she’s relieved they met away from the cameras and on ‘their own terms.’

Lucie, who’s stripped down to her underwear for the launch of Ann Summers collection Knickerbox Planet, said: ‘I fancied him when I first saw him walk into the villa. I saw him and was like ‘wow, he’s perfectly my type.’
‘I watched him the whole time he was on the show and I just thought he was perfect. He was such a lovely gentleman as well.
‘When I saw he was single I messaged him. I saw he was single and I just thought ‘I’ve got to shoot my shot’ – you’ve got to go for what you want.
‘The day we first met we just knew it was meant to be which is really crazy when you meet someone at first. He brings out the best in me because I haven’t stopped smiling since we met.’
