How Ash Williams was tricked into appearing on a Bravo reality show

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! isn’t Ash Williams’ first brush with reality TV fame.

Back in 2014, when he was working as a model in Hollywood, Ash was tricked into appearing on a Bravo show while auditioning for a sunglasses commercial.

‘They were filming the auditions saying that they were also filming a reality TV show called Euros of Hollywood,’ he revealed in a blog post.

‘I did my sunglasses audition, and to see how the sunglasses fitted my face, they asked me to take my top off,’ he continued.

‘I took my top off and they said “the sunglasses look great, we’ll let you know”.

‘A few weeks later, I was in New Orleans doing another job and I got an email from a Euros of Hollywood producer saying “you didn’t get the sunglasses job, but we need you to sign a release form because we want to use your footage in the reality show”.’

At that point, Ash told the producer that he wouldn’t sign the release form unless he was paid $250.

‘When I arrived back in Los Angeles later that week, the producer met me on Santa Monica Blvd and gave me envelope with $250 cash. There’s always a deal to be done,’ Ash boasted.

Ash entered the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle during Sunday night’s premiere episode.

But in an unexpected twist, the comedian previously claimed he would never appear on the reality show.

In a resurfaced interview, Ash said on McKnight Tonight podcast: ‘I’ve got a few irons in the fire but I’ll tell you something I’m not doing, I’m a Celebrity.’

‘I won’t be in the jungle next year and I’ll never be in the jungle. Why would I?’

‘I wouldn’t do it… it is a profile builder but if you don’t need it then you don’t need it,’ he said.
