Matt and Emma Willis are splashing out on a Grand Designs-style makeover of their £1.7million Hertfordshire mansion – complete with an outdoor swimming pool.
The presenter, 44, and Busted singer, 37, have been given the go-ahead by planners to build a gym extension with a glazed link to their four-bedroom pad which also boasts a grand entrance hall and four reception rooms.
Now they want to add an outdoor pool as part of a new-look garden that will include a sunken trampoline and oak swing for kids Isabelle, 11, Ace, nine, and Trixie-Grace, four.

It will also have four parasol roof-form trees in a cube-shaped plant bed, a green oak pergola with a green roof, banked borders and a 6ft-high earth mound at the end of the garden.
Matt and Emma were previously granted planning permission for a new outbuilding including a gym following demolition of an existing garage.
A Hertsmere Council planning officer ruled: ‘A local planning authority should regard the construction of new buildings as inappropriate in the Green Belt, but there are exceptions to this.
‘The proposed development is considered to fall within the exception that reads “the extension or alteration of a building provided that it does not result in disproportionate additions over and above the size of the original building”.’

Two years ago, Voice host Emma gave fans a glimpse of her lavish family home with Instagram snaps including a large kitchen island unit, bright green sofa, leopard print cushions and a white piano.
The pad backs on to open farmland and is just a short drive from Elstree Studios for Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother host Emma.
Plans for the pool were lodged just a week before Christmas (December 17) and a decision is expected later this month (January) There have been no objections so far.
Emma recently made headlines after sharing a picture of her son Ace wearing a pink top and sporting long blond hair.
In October, she had hailed her son as her biggest style inspiration as she shared a snap of him wearing his pink crop top, ripped jeans, and pink Nike trainers.

And she was quickly flooded with praise from fans for raising her son as ‘open-minded’, while others described her nine-year-old son as an ‘inspiration’.
Later speaking on Good Morning Britain, Emma said she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the positive reaction, sweetly saying: ‘He’s just my son in a pink top.’
She continued: ‘For me that’s normality. He loves colour, he’s always had long hair, he’s a free and able-minded boy.
‘He’s like, ‘why do I have to dress in green and blue and grey, when I love red and pink and purple?’ He’s always been that way.’
She continued: ‘We’re trying to raise him as an open-minded, inclusive individual. There were some negative bits, but that’s where the block button is great!’

Emma and Matt keep the faces of their kids hidden in social media posts.
And in the image of Ace that she shared, his face was masked by a mass of long blond hair, as the Big Brother host gushed over his fashion choices.
She captioned the image: ‘My little style icon ❤️ (Ace, not Matt )’, referencing the fact her husband of 12 years was stood in the background of the photo.

Fans praised the presenter for posting the photo, with one saying: ‘Just shows how far we have to go in breaking down gender stereotypes.
‘Pink is simply a colour. Hair grows. Let kids (or adults) wear whatever they want!’
Another added: ‘So what if this boy has beautiful long blond hair and wears a pink T-shirt ! Jesus! I bet he smiles a million more time’s a day then you miserable judgey ADULTS commenting on this child! #getalife.’

Emma tied the knot with her longtime partner Matt in 2008 and the smitten couple renewed their vows 10 years later in 2018.
The renewal ceremony was officiated by Stephen Mulhern, after he got specially ordained for the day, while guests were invited to wear their wedding dresses.
