Police said that a gas canister found inside the property had caused the explosion, resulting in significant damage to the walls and windows within the property.

Parren, of Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe, will appear before Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 1, 2021.

The blast was captured on a CCTV camera. In the footage, a smattering of snow could be seen on the quiet street as people slept in their homes.

The quiet scene was then suddenly upturned with a white flash caused by the blast, which hurled the front window – including its frame into the front garden.

One of the panes of glass remained fully intact despite the blast, whilst the others had cracks running through them.

In the home itself, a giant gaping hole could be seen with blinds exposed to the weather hanging loosely. The terraced house is estimated to be worth £165,000.
