Romantic reunion! Cricket WAG Dani Willis finally reunites with her husband Steve Smith after being forced to spend Christmas without him due to Sydney’s Covid-19 outbreak
Australian cricketer Steve Smith and his wife, Dani Willis, were robbed of their Christmas celebrations this year – but they will most certainly ring in 2021 together.
Dani, 27, confirmed on Instagram on Wednesday she was just a day away from reuniting with her husband, 31, after being separated for four months.
‘Wednesday, 1 more day until I’m allowed to see @steve_smith49! #ISO,’ the blonde law graduate captioned a smiling selfie.

Dani and Steve are expected to have their reunion on New Year’s Eve.
The couple hadn’t been able to spend Christmas together because Dani was ‘denied entry’ into the Cricket Australia team camp in Melbourne due to new Covid-19 restrictions.
She had travelled from Sydney to Melbourne to be with her husband, after being apart for 121 days because of his sporting commitments.

She’d arrived in Melbourne before the borders were closed to Greater Sydney, which is the centre of a coronavirus outbreak, believing she would be able to join Cricket Australia’s hub after three days in isolation.
On Christmas Day, Dani reminisced about the couple’s previous holiday celebrations, sharing a photo of the two of them wearing reindeer ear headbands.
‘Christmas 2020 definitely doesn’t look like this! Missing my friends and family today. Sending love to everyone else who is separated from their loved ones. Merry Christmas!! #ISO #covidchristmas,’ she wrote in the caption.

Although the pair weren’t able to partake in Christmas festivities together, Dani did express her gratitude by sharing a photo of her pre-Christmas celebrations with friends earlier in the month.
‘A few weeks ago celebrating Christmas with some of my favourite people #family #uglysweater,’ she captioned the silly-season snap.
Before their botched reunion, Steve told fans he was excited to spend the festive season with his wife after months apart.

In an Instagram post, Steve shared a photo with Dani and wrote that he was counting down the days until their Christmas reunion: ‘114 days down and only 7 to go!
‘It’s been a long 4 1/2 months away from my wife, but I can’t wait for her to join me in Melbourne next week just in time for Christmas!’
Steve recently returned to Australia and completed two weeks of mandatory hotel quarantine after competing in the Indian Premier League in the UAE.
The Indian Premier League started on September 19.
Before that, he had also been away for a white-ball series in England in August.
During their time apart, Steve and Dani celebrated their second wedding anniversary on September 15.
