A husky has been rescued by Chinese firefighters after it got stuck in the middle of a half-frozen lake at a park in Beijing.
The canine accidentally fell into the freezing water while being walked by its pet owner on Saturday when the temperature dropped to minus eight degrees Celsius (17.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in the Chinese capital.

She called the authorities for help after the pet accidentally fell into a man-made lake which had been partially frozen in the sub-zero weather.
On December 26, the lowest temperature in Beijing reached minus eight degrees Celsius (17.6 degrees Fahrenheit).
In the footage released by the fire brigade, the dog can be seen stuck in the middle of the reservoir, helplessly clinging onto the ice edge with half of its body sinking in the freezing water.

After considering the depth of the water, the officers decided to save the animal by throwing a life buoy, strapped to a rope, towards the husky instead of directly walking into the lake

With its owner’s guidance, the husky grabbed the ring buoy as one of the rescuers slowly pulled it towards the ground.
Another firefighter can be seen squatting down and reaching for the canine, bringing it to safety. The animal appeared to be unscathed.
The authorities later revealed the incident in a social media post, warning pet owners to walk their dogs on leash and with extra caution during winter.
