Ellen DeGeneres rides an electric bike to lunch in Santa Barbara after recovering from COVID-19

She’s on the mend after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.

And Ellen DeGeneres caught some fresh air as she rode an electric bike around town in Santa Barbara on Sunday afternoon.

The 62-year-old talk show host protected herself and others amid the coronavirus pandemic by wearing a face mask before meeting a few friends for lunch in the trendy beachside town located roughly an hour away from Los Angeles.

Ellen appeared to be in great spirits while riding a $3,500 Haibike on city streets in the popular college town nearby her Montecito home she shares with wife Portia de Rossi.

She sported a lightweight navy blue sweater to match a pair of slacks and laced up white Nike’s on her feet.

The comedian kept a blue bandana wrapped around her neck, only moving her face covering to dive into a sandwich while dining outdoors.

Santa Barbara County has recorded 16,000 cases of COVID-19 and more than 100 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The county, which also includes the cities of Santa Maria, Lompoc, Goleta and Solvang, is in California’s top purple tier and residents are under regional stay at home orders with most businesses being closed with services heavily reduced.

Ellen revealed her positive COVID-19 diagnosis on Dec. 10 and quarantined away from others for the mandatory 14-day period.

‘Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now,’ DeGeneres said in a statement posted on Twitter.

‘Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I’ll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay safe and healthy.’

Ellen had to cancel her 12 Days of Giveaways shows following her diagnosis, but is set to return to television screens in January after a contentious year following a ‘toxic’ workplace scandal.

'Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I'll see you all again after the holidays. Please stay safe and healthy,' she said
