This Christmas has proven to be a bittersweet occasion for many this year.

On Thursday, Jesinta, 29, shared an emotional message on Instagram, revealing her family Christmas plans have been ruined due to border closures.

Silly season sadness: On Thursday, Jesinta, 29, shared an emotional message on Instagram, revealing her family Christmas plans have been ruined due to border closures

‘So today has been feeling a bit strange, I’m prepping for a Christmas that has not been cancelled – but definitely been thrown in the air this year,’ she began.

‘We were supposed to have a big family lunch tomorrow and that’s obviously not going ahead due to border closures and my family having to fly home last minute.

‘So, it’s just my husband, my little girl and my little sister, but it is what it is.’

And despite the unfortunate circumstances, she maintains a humble spirit.

‘Feeling grateful that I get to spend quality time with them tomorrow and eat beautiful food,’ she added.

Perhaps the hardest part for the young mum is knowing this will be her nine-month-old daughter Tullulah’s first Christmas.

‘Thinking of all those who don’t get to be with family or loved ones tomorrow.’

The former Miss Universe Australia went on to urge fans to reach out to friends and family who may need support during trying times.

‘Christmas can already be a lonely and triggering time for a lot people.

‘So sending love to everyone and just a reminder to everyone to check in with those who are alone or in isolation, or stuck of overseas and try and stay connected, because this year we’ve all been so disconnected.’

‘After such a tough year and being separated from loved ones for long periods of time, Christmas together felt like the light at the end of the tunnel.

‘So many in the same or worse situations … so wanted to take this time to send out love to everyone hurting today and also a reminder to give thanks for the health and safety of loved ones.’
