But his kids – Dulcie, seven, Alberta, one, and Elva, four – were very unimpressed by his festive singing as they screamed for him to ‘shush’.
In the amusing clip, the Northern Irish actor, 38, showed off his dulcet tones as he sang the opening lines to the Christmas classic.
His daughters had clearly grown tired of his vocal talents as they repeatedly shouted ‘shush daddy shush’ to try and silence his jolly singing.
And Jamie proved that he can be a rather embarrassing father as he went on to increase the volume of his song and laughed over his children’s objections.
While belting out the line ‘where the treetops glisten and children listen’, he wound up his daughters by asking ‘what do they hear?’ before continuing to sing ‘to hear sleigh bells in the snow’.

Jamie’s celebrity friends and fans were quick to comment on his festive video, with one person quipping that he was performing to a ‘tough crowd’.
While Schitt’s Creek actor Daniel Levy quipped in the comments: ‘Rave reviews!’
And Jamie’s Robin Hood co-star Eve Hewson wrote: ‘My dad is the same.’

Jamie announced that he had welcomed his third child Alberta on Mother’s Day last year, as his wife Amelia shared a sweet Instagram snap of three pairs of baby shoes.

To avoid any doubt that she had welcomed another child in secret, Amelia, 38, then added that she was proud to be a mother of ‘three glorious girls’.
The notoriously private couple confirmed their engagement after two years of romance in November 2012, and married in an intimate Somerset ceremony in 2013.
Their daughter Dulcie was born at the end of that year, before the pair confirmed they were expecting again in October 2015.
It was not until March 2016 when Amelia was pictured walking with a stroller in Notting Hill that the arrival of second child Elva was confirmed.
Earlier this month, Jamie revealed that he had quit drinking for part of 2020, as he began ‘doing it all the time’ during lockdown.

He interviewed his friend, Bono’s daughter Eve Hewson in the Winter 2020 issue of Wonderland Magazine, during which he shed some light on his own life.
Revealing that his wife was ‘off the booze’, he explained that he had decided to quit ‘for the craic’ and to show support.
He said: ‘I have decided not to drink for the rest of the year. I’m on day 5 – I know, I look so good – but I am trying not to just for the craic. After his confession, Eve then queried: ‘What’s the point of not drinking?’
Jamie went on: ‘That’s something I am asking myself! Because my wife is not really drinking, Millie’s been off the booze for a while actually…
‘So it’s kind of to support that a wee bit. It’s just you get into such a thing of doing it all the time particularly in lockdown.’
The TV star and his wife recently joined forces and worked together on his most recent film, Wild Mountain Thyme.
Classical composer Amelia wrote the score for the movie, which is set in Ireland and was filmed on location in County Mayo.
Amelia confirmed she was working on the upcoming movie, previously writing on Instagram: ‘Excited and proud to be part of such a beautiful film.’
Wild Mountain Thyme stars Emily Blunt and Jamie, who play neighbours that become lovers before getting caught up in a land dispute over a farm.
Other cast members include Christopher Walken and Jon Hamm, and the movie was released in cinemas and digitally on demand on December 11.
