Is Below Deck FAKE? Izzy Wouters and Eddie Lucas reveal the truth behind the hit series and if the outrageous charter guests are paid actors

Two of Below Deck’s most popular cast members have revealed whether or not the outrageous charter guests featured on the show are fake.

In an Instagram Q&A this week, bosun Eddie Lucas and Australian star Izzy Wouters were asked if the demanding charter guests are the real deal or simply paid actors.

‘They are real people, they are 100% real people,’ Eddie explained.

‘A lot of people are harping on, a lot of the charter guests embellishing the preference sheet or acting a certain way during meals or on the charter,’ he said.

‘Yes, obviously production is going to push people to act a certain way.’

Izzy chimed in: ‘It’s a TV show.’

‘But at the same time, it is their prerogative to act a certain way, so take that as you will,’ Eddie added.

While some of the charter guests may be ramping things up for the cameras, Izzy insists that the drama on the show between Elizabeth Frankini and Chief Stew Francesca Rubi is the real deal.

During an interview on the Poplitically Incorrect podcast, Izzy admitted that Francesca may have been too hard on the stewardess.

‘I think she was very, very picky with Elizabeth,’ she revealed. ‘Elizabeth wasn’t perfect by any means, but she did have good points and good attributes.

‘I think with Francesca, she was probably maybe just picking on the bad things, which… I guess it’s not very good to inspire or increase morale when someone is constantly being beaten down.’

The 25-year-old also admitted that she ‘didn’t get on well’ with Francesca, and even transferred from the cabin crew to deck crew so she wouldn’t have to work under the strict Sydneysider.

‘I could tell straight away that it was a personality that I was not gonna work well with. If I had to work with her I would, but I think that Eddie is a much better personality for me,’ she said.
