‘She wasn’t great’: Andi Peters reveals feud with his former Dancing On Ice professional partner as he admits they ‘didn’t get on’

He starred in the very first series of Dancing On Ice way back in 2006.

And Andi Peters has opened up about a feud with his then professional partner Tamara Sharp as he revealed on Thursday that they ‘didn’t get on’.

Andi, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly, was discussing partnerships with upcoming DOI star Denise Van Outen when he scathingly told how his partner ‘wasn’t great’.

Oh dear: Andi Peters has opened up about a feud with his then professional partner Tamara Sharp as he revealed on Thursday that they ‘didn’t get on’

The presenter, 50, took part in the inaugural series of the popular ITV show and was eliminated in week two.

But despite him being on the show for a short period, it seems that there’s still some bad blood between the two 14 years later as Andi took the opportunity to slag her off on live TV.

When discussing Denise’s skate partner Matt Evers, Andi explained: ‘The partnership is really important as I said. Me and my partner bizarrely all those years ago, we didn’t really get on.

‘She used to refer to me to Torvill and Dean as “him”. ‘

Discussing their feud further, he went on: ‘We’d all be on the ice and she would say to Torvill and Dean, “Tell him, he needs to…” and I was like “I am here!” but I would be stood at the side eating a chocolate bar.’

He scathingly added: ‘My partner wasn’t great.’

Andi’s admission came as he discussed the show with Denise, 46, who is set to take part in January alongside pro partner Matt Ever, 44.

But unlike Andi and Tamara, Denise and Matt get on swimmingly, with the American skater even moving in with Denise and her family so that they could safety train together while adhering to Covid guidelines.

Awkward: Andi explained: 'The partnership is really important as I said. Me and my partner bizarrely all those years ago, we didn’t really get on'

Speaking about being teamed with Matt, Denise gushed: ‘He’s so lovely. He’s been on the show since day dot – he’s such a support and he’s got so much patience.

‘The way he’s been teaching me, honestly, I take my hat off to him, because some days he must feel like banging his head against a brick wall.

‘It just doesn’t go in, I’m really struggling. The performance side of it I love. I’m a bit of jazz hands, but downstairs, the feet are all over the place.’

Emphasising their great relationship, she went on: ‘He’s been living with us which is lovely because we’d met Matt before the show and spent a bit of time with him, we said, “Look, why don’t you come and bubble with us?”

‘We love having him here, he’s part of the family now.’

Denise is set to complete alongside the likes of Myleene Klass, Jason Donovan and Billie Faiers when Dancing On Ice returns in the New Year.
