The Masked Singer is returning to Sydney after production of its most recent season was the centre of a Covid-19 outbreak in Melbourne
The most recent season of The Masked Singer Australia was rudely interrupted by Melbourne’s deadly second wave of coronavirus.
And rumour has it the popular Channel 10 show will relocate to Sydney next year.
Following the Covid-19 outbreak on set earlier this, TV Tonight reports the network is considering ‘all options’ for future seasons.

The series had relocated to Melbourne this year after being forced out of Fox Studios in Sydney due to the production of Disney’s latest Marvel film.
Production will most likely return to this site when a vacant lot is available again.
The industry website also confirmed Australian Ninja Warrior is also set to return to Sydney in 2021, with a Channel Nine spokesperson saying: ‘Indeed we are moving to Sydney. A location will be announced in the New Year.’

The news comes after production of The Masked Singer was shut down earlier this year following a Covid-19 outbreak on set at Docklands Studios.
Seven dancers tested positive for the respiratory virus on August 22, and the show’s stars were ordered to self-isolate immediately.
‘Production on The Masked Singer has been immediately suspended as a result of several crew members receiving a positive test result for Covid-19,’ a Channel 10 spokesperson said at the time.

‘The health and safety of the community, and our staff and production partners is our number one priority,’ they added.
‘The entire production team, including the masked singers, the host and panellists are now in self-isolation. They are all being monitored closely and are in constant contact with medical authorities.’
A dancer came to the set ill and was told by producers to go home, it was reported at the time. Another six dancers who were in close contact then tested positive.
