The Bachelorette’s Georgia Love has blasted AFL star Dale Thomas for dredging up their Twitter feud, 18 months after she infamously ratted him out for drinking alcohol at a charity event two days before a game.
On Tuesday, Dale, 33, took to Twitter to mock Georgia for complaining about getting trolled on Twitter, reminding the 31-year-old that she’d kicked him while he was down last year.
Georgia had sparked a wave of abuse after humble-bragging about buying a house with her fiancé, Lee Elliott, during the Covid-19 recession.

Taking a dig at Georgia, Dale Tweeted: ‘Being trolled for having a good time and enjoying your own life sucks, aye! At least mine was for charity!’
Georgia didn’t take kindly to Dale’s sarcastic commentary, promptly retorting with a sharp-tongued Tweet of her own.
The brunette suggested that the media ‘misreported’ what she had said about Dale drinking at the charity event, even though she’d made her statements publicly on Twitter.

She also claimed there was a difference between Dale’s situation, as he’d admitted to drinking alchol, while she claims she’s receiving backlash online unfairly.
‘[Your Tweet] was calling out something that was being misreported in the news, there’s a fair difference between that and trolling,’ Georgia wrote.
‘You have also since come out yourself and said you had had more to drink than you’d originally said so I’m not sure why you’re still on me about this?’.

Dale is one of many Twitter users who have criticised Georgia for humble-bragging about buying a home in Melbourne this week.
She sparked backlash by writing on social media: ‘Because launching two businesses and planning two weddings during a global pandemic wasn’t stressful, interesting or financially draining enough, we thought, “Why not buy a house too?”‘

In May last year, Dale was banned from participating in the crunch match against St Kilda – which Carlton ended up losing by 13 points – after it emerged he’d chosen to drink at a charity event less than 48 hours earlier.
At the time, Georgia had gleefully Tweeted she had been at the same event and claimed Dale had consumed more than three drinks.
‘I was there and saw him. There’s no way he’d only had 3 drinks,’ tweeted Georgia, who starred in season two of The Bachelorette in 2016.

While Georgia did not break the story about Dale’s ill-advised drinking – sports journalist Caroline Wilson had that honour – her tweet added to the media pile-on after he’d already been stood down by the Blues.
Dale, who was known by his nickname ‘Daisy’ through an AFL career that ended last year after 258 games across 14 seasons with Collingwood and Carlton, acknowledged he’d made a ‘poor’ decision to drink in public before a game.
‘I let my guard down at the event and this is not an excuse in any way. Clearly I need to be better,’ he said in a public apology.
