Viewers will have to wait until 2022 to see his portrayal of a classic DC Comics supervillain.

But Colin Farrell appeared to be enjoying his off time just ahead of the holidays on Tuesday, when he was spotted in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, California heading out of Gelson’s supermarket.

The Irish-born actor, 44, wore a blue-gray cowboy shirt that had at least four buttons undone, showing a flash of his toned chest.

Colin wore simple black Adidas track pants, along with tan work boots.

To be extra cautious, the A Home at the End of the World star sported not one but two face masks – a standard white one underneath a black face covering. 

Locations such as supermarkets have been identified as extra risky during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Farrell also wore a dark cap, and had a beaded bracelet around his wrist.

Finishing  the look, he donned a silver ring.

The Lobster actor squinted in the sunshine as he headed back to his car, carrying two paper shopping bags.

Colin is set to portray Oswald Cobblepot, better known as The Penguin, in the upcoming reboot film from Warner Bros. and DC titled The Batman.

The role was famously portrayed by actor Danny Devito in the 1992 Tim Burton masterpiece Batman Returns.

The late Burgess Meredith originated the role, playing the villain on the Batman television series in the 1960s.

More recently, actor Robin Lord Taylor played The Penguin in a far different manner on the Fox series Gotham.

Farrell will appear in The Batman opposite Robert Pattinson in the title role, along with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as The Riddler.

The movie is currently set for release on March 4th, 2022, after delays related to the pandemic.

The production was filming over the autumn in England, with Colin seen in the role in Liverpool in October.
