Alyssa Milano, 48, shares a make-up free selfie on her birthday as she speaks about being ‘grateful’

Alyssa Milano let her natural beauty shine through as she posed for a glowing make-up free selfie from bed over the weekend, on her 48th birthday.

As the actress, who is married to Dave Bugliari, reflected on another year of life, she spoke of becoming ‘super comfortable in’ her own skin and feeling ‘grateful’ for life.

‘This is 48. No filter. No make up,’ she wrote under her snap, before opening up aging and resilience after months of suffering the lingering effects of COVID-19.

She continued: ‘My body makes crackling sounds when I walk. My daughter asked me the other day why my butt is so jiggley. Sometimes I forget things. I’m tired all of the time. But overall, I’m just grateful for this life. My life.

‘If someone told me that for the next life I get to choose who I come back as—I’d choose me again. Even with the heartache I’ve endured,’ the former child star told her 2.9 million Instagram followers.

Then, the mother-of-two compared herself to Kintsugi, the centuries-old Japanese art of fixing broken pottery, by saying she’s been ‘broken open and mended and broken once more.’

'My life. If someone told me that for the next life I get to choose who I come back as¿I'd choose me again. Even with the heartache I've endured,' the former child star wrote; seen in January

‘I marvel at our capacity to heal. You have that super power too,’ Milano noted. ‘We are all resilient. This resilience is taken advantage of by too many—friends, bosses, kids, our own government even.’

The political activist, who has been a leader of the #MeToo movement, went on to talk about how ‘true freedom isn’t not wearing a mask and going to the bar.’

‘True freedom is one good paying job, with a livable wage, that affords you time with your family without worrying about putting food on the table,’ she stated. ‘That’s my Birthday wish. That we will live in a country that understands that providing programs for people in times of need is their fiduciary duty.’

Pushing through: In October, the host - who shed 9lbs in two weeks due to COVID-19 - spoke of her symptoms as she battled the virus: 'It settled in my lungs and that's when it got really scary. I said, "This is the moment. Do I go to the hospital, do I go to the emergency room or do I stay home?"'

Before concluding her lengthy statement, she slammed those ‘refusing to wear a mask to keep others safe.’

In October, she publicly spoke of enduring lingering symptoms from her two-month battle with the coronavirus in March-April, like hair loss and brain fog.

‘So much of your identity is wrapped up in those things, like having long silky hair and clean skin. Along with that also, I have the brain fog.’
