Beverley Turner paid tribute to her ‘calm, thoughtful and patient’ boyfriend James Pritchett in a gushing Instagram post on Sunday.

The radio presenter, 47, – the ex-wife of rower James Cracknell, 48 – shared a series of snaps with James, 32, saying she ‘could not have survived’ the year without him.

The mother-of-three praised the eco-property developer for his ‘listening’ skills and ‘gentle way of helping’, while revealing he uses the pet name ‘piglet’ for her.

Beverley began dating James after the breakdown of her marriage and the couple went public with their romance at the start of this year.

In the first black and white snap, the pair radiated happiness as they sat outside and cuddled up to each other.

It was followed by a picture of Beverley wearing a patterned kaftan as she was joined by James in pink swim shorts as they went paddleboarding on the River Thames.

In the third shot, Beverley stunned in a black swimsuit as she leaned on James’ shoulder as they sat on the beach.

The final image showed Beverley holding up a glass of wine as she and James lounged on sun beds on the beach.

She captioned the post: ‘I could NOT have survived this ridiculous year without the calm, thoughtful, patient love and support of this man.

‘If you find someone who gets to know you better than you know yourself, hang on to them.

‘He listens. But he’s not afraid to hold up a mirror when I’m letting emotion cloud my judgement….”Piglet,” he says,”are you sure that’s what you mean?”…. which is such a gentle way of helping someone you love gather their true insight.

‘We have a great time whether we’re doing the laundry, messing about on the river or daytime drinking by a pool.

‘And he VERY quickly worked out that I’m only ever as happy as my most unhappy child. So he does everything he can to make them happy too.

‘Which make a mother’s heart burst quite frankly… Even at the end of this s***fest that has been 2020, I am looking forward to all my new projects in 2021 because I have a complete team mate.

‘Hope you’re all making and shaping your new Christmas plans without too much stress.’

Beverley and the Olympic rower finalised their divorce in March 2019 after splitting in 2018 following 17 years of marriage.

The presenter petitioned for the divorce on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour, which the rower did not oppose.

The father-of-three suffered a brain injury in 2010 after he was struck from behind by a lorry while cycling in Arizona while making a documentary for the Discovery Channel.

He said the injury, which left him in a coma for five days, changed his personality and left him and Beverley struggling to cope.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, she said: ‘When I married James, I thought we’d be together for ever, but the divorce statistics for elite sports people is around 75 per cent, and higher again for marriages affected by brain injury, so put those two together, what chance did we have?’

The pair have ensured their split remained amicable for the sake of their three children Croyde, Kiki and Trixie.

Beverley previously said of her new romance: ‘I had such judgment about age-gap relationships before this.’

She added to the Daily Mail: ‘I would look at an older man with a younger woman and roll my eyes, but now I can completely see what they were doing. I cannot see any disadvantage to it.’
