Out now! The Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond released the special A Massive Hunt EARLY after being bombarded by questions about when it would be out

Richard joked: ‘I rather think they hope we’re going to make k**b gags, because they are nobs’, though James claimed his was ‘more of a helmet’.

But Jeremy stepped in and said: ‘We’re not making helmet gags or balls, or anything like that. We’re way past that thing now, the three of us have made a special it’s called A Massive Hunt. Epic didn’t work.’

James questioned his claim by repeating ‘A Massive Epic?’, to which Jeremy quipped: ‘See it doesn’t work. It’s been a long time hasn’t it?’

Lamenting how often they’ve been asked to release the special, Richard said in an exasperated tone: ‘Oh yea, I’m tired of being asked.’

Jeremy added: ‘I’m asked every 25 seconds when is the new special out.’

James went on, ‘Regardless of what you’re talking about, whether you’re on social media, the pub, or the petrol station, “when is The Grand Tour special?”‘

Agreeing with his co-hosts, Jeremy went on: ‘The point is we’ve had this constantly for a year, we’re bored with it, so we decided that it can go out early.’

Jeremy asked James and Richard what they needed to do to release the episode, which sees them go to Madagascar, and the latter said they needed to ‘hit the nobs and then the show drops.’

Building up to it, the trio counted down from three and then pressed their respective buttons which unveiled the show on Amazon’s streaming service.

Ending on an amusing note, Jame suggested they go to the pub which the others agreed to do so.

The special sees the trio go on the hunt for pirate gold in the islands of Madagascar and Réunion as they face the toughest road in the world in their enhanced vehicles.

In November, Jeremy revealed that he and his co-hosts ended up swimming in shark-infested waters after Richard attempted to speak French during their time in Réunion.

Speaking about the Hammond’s lack of language skills, Jeremy explained how after a day swimming they were told a man had been eaten by a shark just the day before.

Jeremy said: ‘When we were in Réunion we had a day of sorting ourselves out and we all met on the beach and Hammond suggested snorkelling.

‘So, he went off to the little hut where you could borrow the flippers and snorkels and he came back and he said, “My French is really coming along, I’ve just had a long conversation with the man in the hut in French.”

‘We then went swimming and snorkelling and when we got back, we were told that the day before, a man had been eaten by a shark. Exactly in that spot, off that same beach, inside the reef where we were snorkelling.

‘So, this French man was clearly saying, “Don’t go swimming” and Hammond was saying “I like to go snorkelling on Wednesdays.”‘

Jeremy continued: ‘Half of the world’s shark attacks are off Réunion and we went swimming there like idiots.

‘Everyone on the beach was staring at us like, “What on earth are they doing…?’” And this was all because Richard Hammond thinks he can speak French.’
