Former RHOA producer says Phaedra Parks should return to the show

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta showrunner says Phaedra Parks should RETURN to the show to confront rival Kandi Burruss as the new season suffers from low ratings

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s former producer and showrunner Carlos King believes that Phaedra Parks should return to the series to tie up loose ends.

Speaking to the Poplitically Incorrect podcast, Carlos said that viewers should get the opportunity to see Phaedra address her falling out with rival Kandi Burruss on camera.

The 41-year-old said that the decision should come down to what the fans want, and if fans want to see the reality TV villain back on screen, then she should return.

‘I believe in giving the fans what they want,’ he stated.

During her last appearance on RHOA in season nine, Phaedra was accused of spreading an unfounded ‘date rape’ rumour about Kandi to co-star Porsha Williams.

‘Now, I’m not in Kandi’s shoes in terms of, I don’t know what it feels like for someone to be accused of that and I do understand if Kandi feels like that’s a deal breaker for her,’ Carlos told Poplitically Incorrect.

‘It is definitely a very understandably sensitive situation for her,’ he continued.

‘Phaedra was an iconic Housewife, absolutely. She had a fan base and she had an audience. Do I think she should come back and talk about what happened? Sure.

‘I’m a producer, so my thing is always… when something as big as that happens, I think the fans want to see the aftermath and the fallout of it. And I think she should come back especially if we’re gonna see that.’

After the ‘date rape’ allegations played out at the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s four-part season nine reunion in 2017, Phaedra was let go from the series.

In an interview with the Daily Mail last year, Phaedra blamed editing for some of her more unflattering storylines on RHOA.

‘It is what it is. Reality shows are not real. They’re for entertainment at everyone else’s expense, except the people that make it, so you can’t regret anything,’ she said.

‘You just have to accept what it is and keep it moving.’

She added: ‘I was just a character that they’re manipulating for their own benefit.’

Despite this, the self-proclaimed southern belle didn’t rule out a potential return to the show in the future.

‘I know there’s lots of rumors swirling around about me returning to the housewives, but I haven’t had any discussions about returning.
