TOWIE’s Georgia Kousoulou explains why she and Tommy Mallet revealed pregnancy to co-stars on camera

Georgia Kousoulou and boyfriend Tommy Mallet announced they are expecting their first baby together, on Tuesday, but In emotional scenes filmed for the TOWIE Christmas special, the couple reveal their exciting news with the cast.

And, the mum-to-be took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday where she cried happy tears while thanking fans for their congratulatory messages and explained why she Tommy chose to reveal their baby news to ALL of their co-stars on camera.

Georgia, 29, admitted that ‘no one knew’ she was expecting and insisted she wanted to film genuine ‘real-life’ reactions to the news on TOWIE, adding that ‘it just felt so right’ given that she and Tommy, 28, met on the reality show.

Speaking to camera with her hair up in a bun, Georgia said: ‘Good morning. Honestly, I feel so overwhelmed this morning. I just feel so happy, so blessed, so lucky.

‘I just feel so loved by all of you and I just wanna say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

‘Honestly, it’s just been a mad year, and this is just the best news we’ve had all year. I’m so relieved it’s out. I’ve literally kept this to myself for so long. 

‘Honestly, I’m so happy. Obviously was gonna announce it today… The reason we announced it last night was because we wanted to be the first to tell you all.

‘That’s why we shocked everyone last night and just announced it. I’m really glad we did, though, because it’s just been amazing. I actually had the best night’s sleep last night.

‘And do you know what I’m so excited about: Today feels like Christmas! The show is out tonight. Guys, when I mean it’s so emotional, I just can’t wait for you to watch it at 9pm with me.

Georgia explained why, for months, she and Tommy kept their pregnancy news a secret, saying: ‘No-one knew. Literally like four people in production knew because I had to tell them, obviously, because we had to plan the scene.

‘None of my friends knew, Chloe Sims, no one knew. I literally kept it to myself – me and Tommy – because I wanted a real-life reaction.

‘The reason we did it on the show was because we met on the show and we just feel like… You guys have been there with us from the start. You’ve seen our first date so it just felt so right doing it there. It was the best thing!’

Getting increasingly teary-eyed, Georgia gushed: ‘Honestly, I just can’t wait for you to watch it. It is amazing and I’ve got that forever and my little baby is gonna watch that back. Honestly it makes me feel so sad… But I think I’m just the hormones.

‘But, yeh, thank you. And do you know what’s nice? I can now talk to you all about being pregnant. About how I feel, about what I’m eating, and oh my god it’s going to be amazing. So thank you all.’  

Georgia and Tommy have also bagged their own ITVBe spin-off series that will give fans the chance to watch them as they become parents for the first time.

In emotional scenes filmed for the TOWIE Christmas special, the couple – who have been together for six years – reveal their exciting news with the rest of the cast. 

A TOWIE insider confirmed: ‘Georgia and Tommy are incredibly happy to be starting a family together.

‘TOWIE has been their lives for seven years now and they wanted to reveal their special news in a way the cast will never forget on this year’s Christmas special.

‘None of their friends on the show knew until they filmed the festive episode and there was not a dry eye in the house – both cast and crew were in tears.

‘Due to the couple’s popularity, ITVBe have also signed them up for a spin-off series and they’re planning to share their baby with viewers on TOWIE in the future.’

Georgia has been hinting Wednesday night’s show will be one to remember on her Instagram, telling fans: ‘Honestly, I can’t wait for you to watch it; I have never been so excited about TOWIE in my life.

‘I have been on it seven years but this show is amazing – get your tissues ready, that’s all I’m going to say. You will cry.’

Georgia and Tommy will follow in the footsteps of former TOWIE cast members Ferne McCann, 30, who has show First Time Mum, and Sam, 29, and Billie Faiers, 30, who star with their young children in The Mummy Diaries. 

Unlike some of the show’s couples that have had their relationships plagued with drama, Georgia and Tommy have stood by each other and maintained a strong romance over the years.

Georgia supported Tommy through his battle with mental health in 2018, when the entrepreneur admitted to not being able to leave the house amid his toughest days. 

While they are not yet engaged, the pair did discuss the prospect of getting married during the latest series of TOWIE.

Georgia said: ‘God, I’m with you for the rest of my life, that’s mental isn’t it? Like we’re actually going to be together forever, that’s long.’

Tommy added: ‘I come in handy sometimes George. I’m needed in other ways, kids, marriage, you’re not going to get married by yourself, are you?’ to which Georgia replied: ‘No and I am happy about it.’

Earlier this year, Georgia shared a photo of her alongside former TOWIE co-stars Chloe Lewis, 29, Lydia Bright, 29, and Danielle Armstrong, 32, who have all recently had babies – and now it won’t be long until she joins them.

Georgia and Tommy started dating in 2014 after meeting on TOWIE and over the years have become one of the show’s most loved couples. 

Friends of the pair have already started hinting about their news, with TOWIE’s Chloe Ross saying: ‘I’m crying already.’
