Matt Damon proves friendship with Ben Affleck is as strong as ever, visits Pacific Palisades home

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have an endearing Hollywood bromance that has endured since grade school in Massachusetts. 

On Wednesday the 50-year-old Bourne Identity actor showed that their friendship was as strong as ever as he paid a visit to Affleck’s  Pacific Palisades home.

Rocking a grey cashmere sweater and navy slacks, Damon looked sharp for the brief house call as he strolled out of the driveway. 

A laidback Damon threw a black baseball cap over his hair and slipped a pair of grey sneakers on his feet as he exited the premise. 

With his phone in hand and a mask over his face he swung by for a mid-day pit stop to see his buddy at the home he now shares with girlfriend Ana de Armas. 

As the deadly pandemic continues to terrorize LA County and the rest of the country, it is unclear when the friend’s last meet up was, though Affleck was recently re-shooting his movie Deep Water in New Orleans up until Thanksgiving. 

Ben and Matt’s upcoming joint project, The Last Duel, was slated for a 2020 release though it was thwarted due to the pandemic and is now currently in post-production.  

The Ridley Scott directed period piece was co-written by Affleck and Damon and will mark the first time since 2001’s Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back that the two will appear on-screen together. 

The A-list actors first rose to fame beside each other in 1997’s Good Will Hunting, despite having a friendship that dates back to their formative years after their mother’s introduced them. 

Only living a few blocks from each other, they later attended the same high school where they developed their love for filmmaking and acting, both supporting each other’s dreams. 

In a 2016 interview with ET Damon said, ‘We were both in love with the same thing — acting and filmmaking. I think we fed on each other’s obsession during really formative, important years and that bonded us for life.’

The pair’s hopes and dreams were solidified on the school playground where they held ‘business lunches’ to make concrete plans for the future. 

After graduating from their respective colleges the two pooled their income and formed a joint bank account, using money made from commercials to fund trips to New York City to audition before hitting it big in Hollywood. 

There for each other both personally and professionally, Damon was a crutch for Affleck after his marriage to Jennifer Garner fell apart and during his struggle with addiction.  

 ‘I can’t tell you how valuable it is to have somebody who’s been through things with you, ups and downs, who knows what your life experience is like, who can identify with that,’ Affleck said in a 2017 interview. 

Now with a new lady by his side Affleck and de Armas have gotten the seal of approval from Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso.

The couples were photographed in early August on the beach in Malibu just shortly before the Knives Out actress was seen moving her belongings into his home.
