Dionne Warwick has proven that social media is wasted on the young.

The six-time Grammy winner recently offered some smiles to her nearly 218k followers on Twitter with witty banter with a few leading artists in the industry.

She took to the platform Monday to announce that she’s teaming up with The Weeknd and Chance the Rapper on the upcoming track Nothing’s Impossible, after she playfully trolled them.

The 80-year-old wrote on Twitter: I’m still on a mission to end foolishness by 2021. It looks like @theweeknd and @chancetherapper are joining me. Who’s next? (I edited this video myself).’  

She included a quick video of herself sitting under her garland-adorned mantel, as she made the announcement with a smile on her face.

Warwick said: ‘Hey everybody. I am so excited, I can’t tell you. I can’t contain myself. The Weeknd has agreed to join Chance the Rapper and myself on our song Nothing’s Impossible.’ 

Proceeds from the song will benefit the Hunger Not Impossible initiative, and it will be written and produced by Warwick’s son Damon Elliott, 47.

He said of the collaboration: ‘My mom and I had a moment to speak with Chance after she Tweeted him about the word “the” in his name. They had such an amazing conversation that led to them discussing the Hunger Not Impossible initiative.’

Elliott continued: ‘The result of our conversation with Chance is this new single we’ll be recording soon and we’re all looking forward to this collaboration.’

Warwick added: ‘We’re trying to make this something that will permeate the entire Earth, so that there are no more hungry people everywhere or anywhere.’

She also donated proceeds from her 80th birthday/holiday celebration livestream on Saturday to Hunger Not Impossible.

It comes after the That’s What Friends Are For artist reached out to Chance on Twitter with a curious query: ‘Hi, @chancetherapper. If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name? I cannot stop thinking about this.’

‘Sorry I’m still freaking out that u know who I am. This is amazing!’ the 27-year-old responded in a tweet, adding: ‘I will be whatever you wanna call me Ms Warwick. God bless you.’ 

Warwick replied with an offer he couldn’t refuse: ‘Of course I know you. You’re THE rapper. Let’s rap together. I’ll message you.’

‘I am now Dionne the Singer,’ she playfully quipped, before taking aim at The Weeknd, 30, in another tweet: ‘The Weeknd is next. Why? It’s not even spelled correctly?’

He was just as starstruck as Chance, responding in a retweet: ‘I just got roasted by Dionne Warwick and I feel honored! You just made my day.’

Warwick’s Twitter activity was referenced over the weekend on Saturday Night Live, as cast member Ego Nwodim did her best impression.

The Masked Singer gave her seal of approval, writing:  I just logged in to tell @eggy_boom @SNL and the other young lady that they did a wonderful job. I hope you all have a great Sunday. I’ll come back if I get bored. Bye!’
