Mark Wahlberg arrives in Sydney after quarantine in Byron Bay

Mark Wahlberg is believed to be filming a global ad campaign for online betting agency Ladbrokes in Australia.

And on Sunday, the Hollywood A-lister arrived in Sydney on his private jet after completing 14 days of quarantine at a luxury retreat outside of Byron Bay.

The 49-year-old Mile 22 star wore a beige T-shirt, grey trousers and a face mask.

Mark accessorised with a silver crucifix necklace, and slung a leather bag over one shoulder as he exited the aircraft. 

According to The Daily Telegraph, the father-of-four will shoot the commercial for Ladbrokes in Sydney and then fly back home to the U.S.  

Mark quarantined at a luxury retreat just outside of Byron Bay, with a $2500 per night price tag.

It is understood that Mark was granted permission to skip the usual hotel quarantine and allowed to self-isolate at the private estate instead.

The countryside retreat featured 24/7 security, including two NSW police officers, to ensure that Mark was safe at all times and was following quarantine protocol.  

According to estimates, the total cost of the two-week quarantine set the actor back around $400,000.

Prior to his arrival Down Under, Mark was last spotted celebrating Thanksgiving with his wife, Rhea, and their sons, Michael, 14 and Brendan, 12, at a church in Beverly Hills.

Mark and Rhea, who have been married for 11 years, also share two daughters, Ella, 17 and Grace, 10. 

The Good Vibrations hitmaker has several highly anticipated projects in the pipeline, including the science fiction blockbuster Infinite.

He’ll also be seen next year in the film adaptation of the hit video game franchise, Uncharted.

Mark is one of several Hollywood megastars in Australia at the moment. 

Actor Zac Efron is currently in Adelaide filming his latest project, Gold, after spending much of the COVID-19 pandemic holed up in Byron Bay.

Meanwhile, Melissa McCarthy and Chris Evans are also in Byron Bay filming Nicole Kidman’s new Hulu mini-series, Nine Perfect Strangers.

Natalie Portman is currently in Queensland filming Marvel blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder, while British star Idris Elba recently arrived in Sydney to film Three Thousand Years of Longing.
