Hailee Steinfeld gets into Marvel hero Kate Bishop’s costume for the first time as she films tense scenes in New York City for Disney+ series Hawkeye

She’s been hard at work on Disney+ series Hawkeye alongside Jeremy Renner in New York City in recent weeks.

And Hailee Steinfeld transformed into Kate Bishop as she filmed tense scenes in the Big Apple’s East Village on Friday evening.

The actress, 24, was seen in her character’s fighting gear for the first time as she shot scenes alongside her stunt double during the night scenes.

Hailee slipped into her character’s iconic purple suit as she paired a zip-up jacket with black trousers and lace-up boots. 

Getting into character as the sharpshooter, Hailee also carried a quiver strapped across her shoulders for easy access during fight scenes.

Her raven tresses were pulled back into a tight ponytail and she was seen wearing a dramatic expression while cameras were rolling, before she smiled up at her stunt double when they prepared for another take.

Kate is a member of the Young Avengers, and is set to take up the Hawkeye mantle from Jeremy’s Clint Barton. 

Both Hailee and Jeremy have been hard at work on Hawkeye over recent weeks, with the new Disney+ series the latest addition to the ever expanding Marvel universe. 

Jeremy’s character has appeared in six Marvel films through the years, including Thor, Captain America, Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: Endgame.

The new show will also feature appearances from actors Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox and Zahn McClarnon. 

Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova from the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Black Widow, according to Variety. 

Hawkeye joins several Marvel adaptations slated for Disney’s streaming service, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She Hulk, What if…? and WandaVision. 

The show was originally slated to debut in May, but pushed back to Nov. 6 and now will see a screen debut of May 7, 2021.
