Willow Smith displays her sense of style in an eclectic shoot for Marie Claire

She was hailed by her mother Jada Pinkett Smith as ‘stepping into [her] womanhood’ when she modelled lingerie at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Vol. 2 show in October.

And Willow Smith, 20, is flexing her sartorial muscles once again in a brand new eclectic fashion shoot for Marie Claire’s winter issue.

The Red Table Talk star looks sensational as she displays her individual sense of style in an array of colourful and structured ensembles for the shoot.

Oh so stylish: Willow Smith, 20, is flexing her sartorial muscles once again in a brand new eclectic fashion shoot for Marie Claire’s winter issue

Shot by her Anxiety bandmate Tyler Cole, the Whip My Hair hitmaker is seen donning a teal Off White trouser suit with black Dr. Martens boots, teamed with a grey top.

She is also seen in a light grey belted Louis Vuitton dress, which is given a flourish of colour with two-tone orange accents on her top and skirt.

Catching the eye in a patterned black R13 sweater, the youngest daughter of Jada and Will Smith poses up a storm in the outdoor California canyon view setting.

In her accompanying interview, the star discussed her dedication to using her platform to help others and spread ‘awareness’, particularly time leading up to and following this summer’s global Black Lives Matter protests.

She said: ‘I speak out as much as I can on social media and give artists of color platforms to speak their mind, to be seen and have their work known.’

Willow, who has a combined total of more than 10 million followers across her Instagram and Twitter accounts, continued: ‘If you have a platform and you’re not using it for good and awareness and helping others, then what are you doing?’

And she believes that any broad societal shifts will likely come at the hands of the world’s younger generations, as has been the case throughout history.

‘Youth has always been at the forefront of change in society,’ she said. ‘I feel what is becoming different is that people are going out of their way to ask themselves, “What can I do? How can I contribute to making this world a better place?”‘

When Willow modelled lingerie for the first time at Rihanna’s Los Angeles show, her mother Jada, 49, heaped praise on her when they discussed her runway moment on their Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk.

She said: ‘You really stepped into your womanhood this year and you showed the world your transformation during your Fenty strut.’

Willow was in agreement, and said the experience ushered in her year of ‘becoming a woman’.

Despite her fierce poses during the show, Willow was second-guessing herself before the event began.

‘As soon as I got in there, I was like, “Oh god, maybe I can’t handle this. Maybe this is not my place,”‘ Willow said.

Once she put on the outfit, however, Willow changed her mindset: ‘That comes from my insecurity,’ she said. ‘I put on the clothes and I looked at myself and I said, “You’re gonna go out there and vibe it out.”‘

Jada had seen the outfit prior to the runway show, and Willow even FaceTimed her mother once she tried it on before the show.

The actress gave the look her seal of approval during their video chat.

‘I was very surprised because I had never worn lingerie in my entire life. My first time in front of the whole world ever wearing lingerie,’ Willow admitted.

‘I just felt so empowered. I felt I was stepping into the year of lingerie and the year of me becoming a woman. I just want to continue to get more confident and just getting more comfortable in my skin.’

Jada’s voice was full of warmth as she remarked on her daughter’s evolution as she said: ‘I’m just proud of the young woman you’re becoming.’

Willow opened up about her sexuality last June in another Red Table Talk, speaking candidly with Jada and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Jones, 67.

She said: ‘I love men and women equally, and so I would definitely want one man, one woman. I feel like I could be polyfidelitous with those two people.’

Polyfidelity is a form of non-monogamy, in which all members of the relationship are considered equal partners.

The artist, who is the younger sister of Jaden Smith, 22, added: ‘I’m not the kind of person that is constantly looking for new sexual experiences.

‘I focus a lot on the emotional connection and I feel like if I were to find two people of different genders that I really connected with and we had a romantic and sexual connection, I don’t feel like I would feel the need to try to go find more.’
