He’s been posting regular updates from the hospital as his baby daughter starts her second round of chemotherapy to fight an aggressive form of leukaemia.

And Ashley Cain shared a series of adorable snaps with his little girl Azaylia, four months, as they enjoyed a daddy daughter playdate on Friday.

The Ex On The Beach star, 29, was every inch the doting dad as they played with toys and later joked that his tot thinks he’s a ‘big softie’ despite once being called the ‘bad boy of MTV’.

In a series of clips shared to Instagram Stories, Ashley explained that Azaylia has a French nurse and she loves the accent.

Making his adorable baby smile, Ashley spoke to her and wrote: ‘She’s laughing at the fact they used to call me the bad boy of MTV… She’s like Daddy, you ain’t nothing but a big softie.’

The daddy and daughter quality time also included playing with Azaylia’s teddies and flashing light toys.

Ashley penned: ‘Daddy Daughter Play days are the BEST!

‘Children who are this poorly like Azaylia need their rest, but it is also important to get them up, get them dressed and get them active so they can forget for a second the pain they’re in and play their little hearts away like they haven’t got a problem in the world!’

Although enjoying a lovely day with his little girl, Ashley later revealed that he had to make a quick dash back to the hospital in the evening.

Speaking as he rushed back to the ward, he explained how his strength was needed to try and loosen Azaylia’s feeding tube.

He said: ‘Was on my break, back at the hotel, and got a call form my partner saying someone’s done Azaylia’s feeding tube up too tight and none of them can get it undone so they’re going to have to retube her..

‘So take it out her nose then reput it down her nose, down her throat into her stomach so i was like “NAH we’re not having that” so I’m getting over to the hospital now to see if i can put this strength to use and undo the attachment on the feeding tube so Azaylia doesn’t have to go through any pain.

‘So if I can do it proves to show its good to keep fit and strong as you might be able to save your child a bit of pain.’

Luckily, the doting father was able to unscrew the attachment and save Azaylia the uncomfortable procedure.

It comes after Ashley said the second round of chemotherapy is ‘really starting to take its toll’ on his Azaylia, four months, as she battles a rare form of leukaemia.

The Ex On The Beach star updated fans on Instagram on Thursday on how Azaylia was doing and said she was becoming ‘more uncomfortable and unsettled by the day’.

He said: ‘So usually my little pumpkin loves sleeping through the night but last night what was going on? We were up at 2am, 4.30 am and 6.30 this morning.

‘She’s going through a tough time at the moment. She’s sick, feeling pain and feeling uncomfortable.

‘The chemo is really starting to kick in now and bring her down. But when we go down, we come back up, don’t we? Let’s go champ’.

Ashley, who welcomed Azaylia in August with his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, later shared a snap of himself cuddling his daughter after giving her a nice bath.

He wrote: ‘This 2nd round of chemo is really starting to take its toll on Azaylia as she is becoming more uncomfortable and unsettled by the day.

‘So bath time is not only beneficial to keep her clean to prevent infection, but a great chance for her to splash around, soak and relax in the warm water.

‘Parents if you want to get 5 minutes peace and quiet… Give your baby a nice bath, swaddle them so they stay warm & cosy afterwards and watch them fade away into a nice deep sleep.’
