Disney’s Raya And The Last Dragon to hit theaters and Disney+ Premiere Access simultaneously

The highly anticipated animated film — Raya And The Last Dragon — is hitting theaters on the same day it will be available on the Disney+ streaming service.

But like the release of Mulan earlier this year, the upcoming movie will become a Premiere Access title, which means customers will have to pay an additional charge for unlimited views while it’s still in theaters.

Disney also revealed a new poster for the animated fantasy film that revealed it will  drop on March 5, 2021.

Double dose: Raya And The Last Dragon will be released in theaters on the same day it will be available on the Disney+ Premiere Access streaming service

As of now, it’s still unclear what the pricing structure will be for Raya when it’s released next year.

Disney+ charged an extra $29.99 for unlimited views of Mulan to its subscribers when it was released back on September 4.

It became part of the standard Disney+ catalog on December 4, exactly two months after the initial release.

It remains to be seen if the company will follow a similar plan for Raya.

Kelly Marie Tran voices the role of Raya while Awkwafina plays Sisu, the last dragon.

Directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, the story takes place in the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony a long time ago. But when an evil force threatens the land, the dragons end up sacrificing themselves to save humanity.

Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to the lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon and restore the fractured land and its divided people.

But along the journey, Raya learns that it will take more than a dragon to save the world, including trust and teamwork.
