Former Celtic star Anthony Stokes is set to be placed on an anti-domestic abuse course.
Social workers put the striker, 32, forward for the ‘Caledonian Programme’, designed to stop domestic offending.
Stokes will now wait to see if a sheriff agrees to him being sent on the programme.
He was in the dock for sentencing after a sheriff ordered him to be of good behaviour for eight months.
He had also been given a non-harassment order keeping him away from ex-girlfriend Eilidh Scott for four years.

The case had originally been due to be heard in May but was delayed due to Covid restrictions.
Michael Gallen, defending, said: ‘It appears given the nature of the offences and his openness about the difficulties he faces, he has been identified as a potential candidate for the Caledonian Programme.
‘That programme would clearly be of benefit to him and he is keen to avail himself of this opportunity.’

He will be sent for an assessment to determine whether he is suitable for the scheme and will return to Hamilton Sheriff Court next month.
Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen said: ‘I’m adjourning this case for a supplementary report which will consider your suitability for the programme.
‘The court will be looking for full co-operation from you in that assessment progress.
‘I have read that voicemails have had to be left by social workers for you in the past and other difficulties.

Stokes won seven trophies in six seasons at Parkhead and netted twice in Hibs’ 3-2 Scottish Cup win over Rangers in 2016.
He joined Iranian team Tractor Sazi FC in 2018 but last year signed a deal with Turkish second division side Adana Demirspor.
In August, he joined Scottish Premiership side Livingston but quit the club after just three weeks claiming he struggled to adapt to training on the team’s artificial pitch.
