Pringles unveils full-body mascot after challenge from Last Week Tonight host John Oliver

Pringles unveils full-body mascot after challenge from Last Week Tonight host John Oliver with $20k going to charity

As the host of This Week Tonight, John Oliver is not one to mince words or give up on a pet peeve lightly.

So when he took Pringles to task over the brand’s mascot, it’s perhaps no surprise that the potato chip purveyor took notice.

Oliver had joked on his HBO show about the mustachioed face that adorns tubes of Pringles products and wondered aloud what the rest of the mascot looked like.

‘People need to know!’ John Oliver had joked on his HBO show about the mustachioed face that adorns tubes of Pringles products and challenged the brand to reveal the rest of Mr. P while pledging $10,000 to the nonprofit Feeding America

On Monday, the British-born comedian tweeted on the official Last Week Tonight Twitter account: ‘We will donate $10k to @FeedingAmerica if @Pringles finally tells us what the Pringles guy’s body looks like. The people need to know!.

He didn’t have long to wait.

On Tuesday, Pringles tweeted a video clip showing Mr. P in his entirety.

The company also pledged to match Oliver’s $10,000 donation to the charity that seeks to provide support to families facing hunger via food banks, soup kitchens and other community-based initiatives.
