Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa co-star Sarah McGilvray relists her family’s $2.04 million Balmain home in Sydney for a lower price after failing to find a buyer

Sarah McGilvray, the program director at Nova 96.9FM, has relisted her family’s Balmain property for sale.

Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa show co-star and her husband James Couche had previously failed to attract a successful buyer for the Sydney home in 2018.

According to Realestate.com.au, the couple have now reduced their asking price to lower than what they originally purchased the three-bedroom terrace for in 2017.

The property sits on a 135sq block and has partial views of the Harbour Bridge from the terrace.

Sarah and husband James paid $2.04 million for the home three years ago.

They initially listed it for sale in 2018 to be closer to family, but failed to sell the terrace at its $2.18 million asking price at the time.

The publication now claims the price guide sits around the $1.85 million mark – almost $200,000 less than what they purchased it for before renovations.

Despite its renovations, the terrace has retained its original features, including high ornate ceilings, timber floors and French doors.

The Victorian terrace was pulled from Tuesday’s auction, but appears to still be on the market.

It’s believed the couple have already moved to Turramurra, a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney.

They purchased the four-bedroom 1910 period home in Turramurra for $3.03 million earlier this year.

In 2018, the couple put their Sydney inner west home on the market for $2.1 million after making renovations to the property.

Sarah joked on radio about an unpleasant surprise left behind by one of the potential buyers when they hosted an open house inspection.

Someone had used their toilet during the viewing, and left behind a nasty mess and odour for them to come home to.

‘They’ve taken their liberties with it and used the facilities, shall we say…’ she began.

‘To their credit they did pull the chain … but left a mess,’ Sarah said laughing as she confirmed that the mess was in fact ‘not a tinkle’.
