Bachelor fans have rallied behind Alex Nation after she was targeted by homophobic trolls in response to her relationship announcement this week.
Alex, 28, who identifies as pansexual and was previously engaged to a woman from 2017 to 2018, revealed on Monday that she was dating a tradie named Carson Jory.
After sharing the news on Instagram, several followers were seemingly confused by her sexuality and left insensitive comments about her ‘switching back’ to men.

‘What? Now you decided to love a man again?’ one trolled asked.
‘Here we go again,’ another wrote, presumably referring to her relationship dramas in the past.
However, Alex’s fans were quick to stamp out the homophobic comments.
‘She can love who she wants. It was never male or female it was the person,’ one supporter commented.

‘It doesn’t matter whether it’s a man or woman we all deserve to love and be love so who cares who it’s with as long as they aren’t hurting anyone,’ another wrote.
On Monday, Alex revealed on Instagram that she was in a relationship with Carson Jory, a tradie who owns a floor and wall tiling business.
She shared a gallery of black-and-white photos of the couple on a camping trip, alongside the caption: ‘Nice to meet you, Mr Jory.’

Alex did not mention how long they’d been dating, but her friends in the comments section did not seem to be surprised by the announcement.
Fans of The Bachelor will remember Alex as the winner of the fourth season, but her romance with rope-access technician Richie Strahan didn’t last.
They quietly broke up in 2017, after filming the show the previous year.

They got engaged in December 2017, but split the following April. They remain friends.
Alex kept her dating life under wraps after breaking off her engagement to Maegan.
She did, however, make an appearance on last year’s season of Bachelor in Paradise.
