Ashley shared a close up photo of her hip and said that she didn’t point her stretch marks out ‘because I don’t want to focus on any part of my body or your body as a flaw’.

She said that she ‘loves them because they show how my body adapted to grow my son’.

The reality star said that she has simply been keeping her ‘body well moisturised’ but hasn’t ‘bought into any ‘magic’ potions because they just don’t exist’.

‘I think this is the question I’ve been asked the most throughout my pregnancy. And I want to talk about it…

‘Firstly, there is no magic potion for stretch marks. The beauty industry literally profits off making us believe there is something ‘wrong’ with stretch marks (and other perfectly normal things, like cellulite). So whilst I have been keeping my body well moisturised, I haven’t bought in to any ‘magic’ potions because they just don’t exist.

‘Secondly, I want to say that I do have stretch marks. I haven’t pointed them out because I don’t want to focus on any part of my body or your body as a flaw.

‘No part of our body is a flaw. But I have them and I just wanted to share that, and I love them because they show how my body adapted to grow my son.

‘Stretch marks super common and very normal. I saw somewhere that 8/10 pregnant women get stretch marks. Obviously some of us get them worse than others, and sometimes they come up in different colours depending on our genetics and skin tones, but they’re very normal.

‘I don’t see them as ugly. I’ve said this before, but I see them as mother nature’s tattoo: a way of her commemorating something our body has grown for. My pregnancy stretch marks are white, but when I was younger I had angry red marks all over one boob when I had a lump. The colour faded, but the lines remain..they remind me what my body overcame.

‘I’d love for all parts of our bodies that we’ve been made to see as flaws, to be seen as life stories. Our freckles share the stories of times in the sun. Our stretch marks, of the times our bodies adapted and changed. Our wrinkles, of all the times we laughed, smiled, or cried. We are a growing and evolving work of art.

‘So please don’t buy magic potions, they probably don’t work. But moisturise… I do it twice a day, I always have. But I take extra pride in massaging my bump… It’s a self care thing. Will it help prevent stretch marks? Maybe. But please love your body even if and when Mother Nature’s tattoos appear. ❤️’ [sic]
