Gwen Stefani reveals her most important request for upcoming nuptials to Blake Shelton… while confessing she ‘would rather it not be a COVID situation’

Gwen Stefani couldn’t be happier that she can call herself Blake Shelton’s fiancee.

But, like many couples around the world, they still haven’t set a firm wedding date due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

And now the Hollaback Girl has opened up to reveal that she can’t see herself exchanging vows with Shelton without two of the most important people in her life.

Nuptials confession: Gwen Stefani gushed about her pending wedding to Blake Shelton while revealing she ‘would rather it not be a COVID situation’ during an On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview on Monday

It’s been just over a month since the couple announced their engagement after about five years of dating.

During an On Air with Ryan Seacrest interview, the host asked her if she preferred a large or small wedding in the ‘post-pandemic world.’

‘I would say I just want my parents there at this point,’ she said of her father Dennis and mother Patti.

‘My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared, so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing,’

Considering the U.S. has already entered into a dangerous period of the pandemic, with a rising number of cases in many states, it sounds like they won’t be saying ‘I do’ any time soon.

‘Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for COVID, so we’re sort of like gonna see what happens in the next few months,’ Stefani confessed.

Even with the state of the country, and the world at large, Stefani could’t hold back her giddy excitement over her pending nuptials.

‘It’s so funny to even say “engaged.” It feels so weird. People have been saying it for so long, like five years, “Are you getting married? Are you engaged?” And now we actually are and it feels like I’m in a cartoon or something,’ the California native gushed.

‘We look like a weird cartoon, like fake like meme or something,’ she joked about their relationship before adding, ‘but yet, somehow, we are meant to be.’

Also on Monday, Stefani released her first single –Let Me Reintroduce Myself, which is reportedly off of her upcoming fifth album.

Her last non-holiday-themed album was 2016’s This Is What The Truth Feels Like. It launched the singles Used To Love You, Make Me Like You and Misery.
