Inside Pia Miller’s rocky love life… as she gets engaged to Patrick Whitesell

Former Home and Away star Pia Miller announced her engagement to multi-millionaire Hollywood power player Patrick Whitesell late last month.

The 37-year-old actress was clearly delighted by the proposal, sharing a picture to Instagram of herself proudly showing off her diamond ring glistening in the sunset.

But it hasn’t been the easiest road to love for the glamorous mother of two, who previously went through a highly publicised divorce from a footy hero, which was soon followed by a failed engagement to a Sydney businessman.

To complicate matters further, before she became a household name in Australia, Pia was a teenage mother who welcomed her first son at the tender age of 19.

Throughout her teenage years, Chilean-born Pia was a working model, travelling the globe for various runways and fashion shows.

But she put her career on hold when she fell pregnant 17 years ago. In 2003, she gave birth to her eldest son, Isaiah.

In an interview with Elle in 2017, Pia said it ‘wasn’t easy’ juggling modelling with raising a newborn, but said ‘once I decided that was the path I was going to take, it became almost seamless’.

In 2005, she met AFL legend Brad Miller, the man who became her first husband.

The pair appeared to have a fairytale life, with Pia giving birth to their son, Lennox, in October 2006. She married the retired Richmond player the following year.

However, the pair sadly announced their split in 2015, after 10 years together. At the time, they blamed the break-up on their hectic work schedules.

‘I’d shoot all day, jump on a plane, race home and make dinner – it was like I was working full-time in both places,’ Pia told Marie Claire in 2016.

‘I was trying to do everything and it took a toll on me physically, I think it took its toll on everything.’

Shortly after their split, Pia was linked to film producer and businessman Tyson Mullane. They announced their romance on Valentine’s Day in 2016.

Unfortunately, the lovebirds never made it up the aisle.

While neither confirmed the end of their engagement, they both quietly unfollowed each other on social media, and Pia was spotted without her ring in April 2019.

Later that year, she met the man who has now become her third fiancé: 55-year-old talent agent Patrick Whitesell.

The duo made their red carpet debut in November 2019.

Almost a year later, they announced they were engaged as Pia flashed her whopping diamond ring on Instagram.

To say Patrick is a big name in Hollywood would be an understatement.

His clients include the likes of Hugh Jackman, Ben Affleck and Ryan Reynolds, and he’s said to be worth more than US$440million (AU$642million).

Pia has well and truly healed Patrick’s broken heart after his ex-wife, Lauren Sanchez, left him for Amazon boss Jeff Bezos in one of the biggest scandals of 2019.

The pair’s wedding is set to be one of the most star-studded events of 2021, with an insider telling New Idea this week: ‘No expense will be spared when it comes to the wedding. Patrick wants Pia to have whatever she wants.’

Her engagement ring alone – a solitaire oval diamond sparkler – is estimated to be worth between US$800,000 (AU$1.10million) and US$1.4million (AU$1.9million).

Prior to her romance with Patrick, Pia was living in a $950-a-week rented apartment in Sydney’s Randwick, but she’s now said to be living it up in a $7.8million mansion in the heart of Bondi.
