In 2017, the pair discussed the financial struggles they’d experienced in the mid-2000s, when Cameron was a struggling actor in Los Angeles.

In an interview with Stellar magazine, Alison revealed that their friends were leaving groceries on their doorstep just so they could feed their three children.

At one point, Cameron thought he’d made it after he landed a part in David Lynch’s Inland Empire, only to find out that the role paid just $500 in total.

‘It looks great on the résumé,’ he confessed. ‘But that’s the going rate for those low-budget projects. The father part of me just went, ‘I’ve got to get cash.”

The family have since returned to Australia, where Cameron works as an actor and radio presenter for Smooth FM.
