Karen Knowles is parting ways with her stunning Melbourne home after nearly thirty years.
The singer has listed the ‘elaborate, sophisticated treehouse’ in Victoria’s affluent Surrey Hills for a whopping $1.75million via expressions of interest private sale, realestate.com.au reports.
The 56-year-old sang the praises of the four-bedroom abode as she dubbed it a ‘comfortable environment to relate to the outdoors’ and a ‘soft place to allow creativity through’.

Speaking to the publication, Karen added of the treehouse: ‘I think nature itself is always a great inspiration, so to be in a comfortable environment where you are relating to nature outdoors is amazing.’
The star also revealed that the home was the perfect place for a singer/songwriter like herself.
‘Acoustically, the cathedral ceiling and the wood is just amazing to sing and play in as well, it’s just got a really lovely resonance in that space.’

She added: ‘It’s just that softness that you have, especially in that top room, where you feel held and supported, and it has been a beautiful place to allow new music through, so I’ve enjoyed the space from that perspective.’
The home was designed by the late architect Bala Balendra and is surrounded by lush greenery, stunning wildlife and the constant chatter of birdlife.
Karen was about to sign off on another beachside property in 1993 when she an agent approached her and claimed he had found her the dream property she was searching for.
