Father spent the past three YEARS studying the contents of Celebrations tubs

Chocolate fan conducts a THREE YEAR audit of Celebrations tubs and finds that Galaxy varieties are always in short supply – while Milky Way, Mars and Maltesers are the most common

  • Jody Gaisford who lives in Colerne, examined the contents of Celebrations tubs
  • Past three years tubs have been mostly filled with Milky Way, Snickers or Mars
  • The father took to Facebook to share his claims in a series of graphs

Opening a tub of chocloates to find that your favourites are all gone is a pet peeve that has caused more than a few family rows over Christmas.

Now a chocolate fan has revealed how the proportion of different chocolates in a tub of Celebrations fluctuates after conducting a three-year survey – concluding that  Galaxy varieties are usually in short supply.

Jody Gaisford who lives in Colerne, Wiltshire, has counted the volumes of each chocolate variety in the tubs for the past few years, and was inspired to collate the data after seeing someone else conduct a study on Quality Streets.

Posting on Facebook’s Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas, the father shared graphs revealing that Milky Way, Mars and Maltesers have come out on top between 2017 and 2019.

The discovery impressed members of the group who gushed that his research is ‘time well spent’, while some admitted the finding has put them off purchasing Celebrations tubs in the future.

Revealing he hasn’t researched this year’s tubs, Jody wrote: ‘After seeing the excellent work a fellow lockdowner did analysing a tub of Quality Street, I thought I would share my own three year study into Celebrations.

‘The wife has safely hidden away a tub ready for this year. The fun never stops in our house.’

Jody posted a photograph of the contents of a Celebrations tub from 2019, and made a note of how many of each chocolate variety were inside, as well as a graph charity three years.

It revealed that in 2019, Milky Way was the most common chocolate, however Malteaser had been the most popular in 2018.

Meanwhile in 2017, it was Mars that predominately filled tubs of Celebrations.

Jody claims Galaxy and Galaxy Caramel are usually in the minoirty.

A flood of responses to the post congratulated him on his time and dedication given to the study.

One person wrote: ‘I’m surprised by the massive reduction in Twixes over the last couple of years. This study is time well spent in my opinion!’

Many responses to the post praised Jody for his dedication to studying the chocolates for the past three years

Another said: ‘Oh I love this! The fact it’s a three-year project is brilliant, the dedication’

The graphs sparked a debate about the best chocolates as some admitted the findings are not what they had expected.

‘I’m not buying these tubs again, what a complete let down,’ wrote one.

Another said: ‘I sadly just did this, it seems quite similar. 12 Mars, 13 Snickers, 12 Milk Way, 7 Twix, 8 Bounty, 8 Maltester, 6 Galaxy Caramel, 5 Galaxy’

A third added: ‘My Christmas was ruined the day the Galaxy Truffle was replaced by the Twix! Of all the chocolates a sodding Twix’

Another wrote: ‘I’d be happy with this box, love Bounty & Snickers, not keen on Galaxy Caramel.’

The findings sparked a debate about favourite chocolates as some reveled they miss Galaxy Truffle being in the tubs
