Cody Simpson teases new music with a ‘riffing’ session following his split from Miley Cyrus after the couple dated for eight months
Australian singer Cody Simpson has teased new music following his high profile split from Miley Cyrus.
The 23-year-old showed off his guitar skills while ‘riffing’ in his backyard in a clip he shared to Instagram on Wednesday.
The young star looked in high spirits as he plucked at the strings while rocking back and forth to a tune.

‘Riffing in my new backyard,’ Cody, who is obviously skilled at the instrument, captioned the clip.
Cody covered his famously shredded physique in a white Hurley T-shirt and black cap during the jam session.
A number of Cody’s fans were clearly thrilled with the idea of new music from the singer.

One fan wrote: ‘Get it bro’. Another added: ‘Sunset Strip Cody come back.’
Cody only just released Hoochie Coochie Man alongside the North Mississippi Allstars, channelling a more refined country sound.
It comes amid a tumultuous time in Cody’s personal life after he unveiled his rumoured new girlfriend, Marloes Stevens.

Cody hasn’t confirmed he is dating Marloes. However, the pair have been spotted around LA together on several occasions recently.
The singer is newly single, as his ex Miley confirmed in August they had split.

‘We are just deciding who we wanna be in our lives, what we wanna do, and so don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re hanging out, getting pizza,’ Miley said during a recent Instagram Live broadcast.
‘We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not.’
Miley was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.
