Two people are stabbed in Marks & Spencer and left seriously injured as police arrest knife suspect

Two people were today stabbed inside a Marks & Spencer store in Burnley, police have confirmed.    

Lancashire Police said a man has been arrested after the two people were seriously injured in the incident. 

Footage from the scene captured a man in a face mask being detained by officers outside the Lancashire store at around 10am today.  

Other clips show onlookers stood near the Charter Walk Shopping Centre. 

A force spokesman said: ‘We are currently dealing with an incident at Marks and Spencer in Burnley where two people have received stab injuries.

‘Their injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening. One man has been arrested and is in custody at this stage.

‘Nobody else is thought to be involved. A cordon is in place and we would ask people to avoid the area.’
