Taylor Swift debuts re-record of her hit Love Story for a commercial written by Ryan Reynolds

Taylor Swift surprised fans with a refreshed snippet of her hit track Love Story in a new commercial, written by pal Ryan Reynolds, on Wednesday morning.

One week after gushing that her smash 2008 song was the ‘most fun’ to re-record on GMA, the ten-time Grammy winner shared a hilarious Match.com ad using the lead single from her sophomore album, Fearless.

‘Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend @VancityReynolds asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote so…here’s a sneak peak of Love Story!’ the 30-year-old Cardigan singer tweeted.

Swift recently opened up about laying down new tracks of her early music, after her catalog was sold out from under her by Scooter Braun with George Stephanopoulos.

‘I’ve been having a really great time re-recording my older music,’ the superstar noted.

Putting a positive spin on a frustrating situation, Swift said she is enjoying re-doing her older albums, despite being forced into the situation when her catalog was recently sold – for the second time – without her knowledge.

'Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend @VancityReynolds asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote so...here’s a sneak peak of Love Story!' the 30-year-old Cardigan singer tweeted

‘I think it’s been the most fun doing Love Story because because, the older music, my voice was so teenaged,’ she explained. ‘Sometimes when I hear my older music and my older, young teenage voice it makes me feel like I’m a different singer.

‘I like to go back and re-record ones that I feel like I could possibly improve upon the song,’ she added.

Love Story was released in 2008 when Taylor was just 19-years-old and it became her best-selling single at the time, reaching number four on the Billboard top 100.

While Swift called re-doing all her hard work a ‘fun adventure’ during her interview, she’s made it perfectly clear there is still bad blood between herself and Scooter Braun, who bought and sold her music without her say.

Braun, a 39-year-old music executive, recently unloaded the master rights to Taylor’s first six albums to private equity firm Shamrock Holdings in a deal deal is believed to be well over $300 million.

Taylor called him out over the sale in a social media post and claimed that he intentionally kept her in the dark while he turned a hefty profit on her hard work.

Prior to the that, in 2019 Braun had purchased Nashville-based independent record label Big Machine, first taking the rights to Taylor’s body of work and at the time, she voiced public outrage at being cut out of the deal.

Swift said the news made her ‘sad and grossed out’ because, in part, she claims Braun perpetuated ‘incessant, manipulative bullying’ against her for years.

Rising above, Taylor has decided to re-record her old music – a task that kept her from attending the American Music Awards.

'Obviously we're doing things a little bit different this year because concerts aren't happening,' Taylor said in her interview

Over the summer, she dropped her critically-acclaimed new album Folklore, which was recorded in isolation during the pandemic.

‘It was so crazy to create and album from my house – I’ve never done that before,’ she told GMA.

Last Tuesday, it was revealed she had snagged six Grammy nominations for her latest album and her haunting track Beautiful Ghosts from the film adaptation of Cats.

Exciting: Her latest album is up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, while the Mean singer's lead single, Cardigan was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance
