In November, it was revealed that Maya banked £1.3m via her company MIJ & Co in figures obtained by The Sun, with a source telling the publication: ‘After leaving Radio 1 in May she said she had exciting projects and she wasn’t wrong.
‘Landing a presenting gig alongside Pete Crouch on his BBC primetime TV show Save Our Summer was massive, and it’s just the start.’
Speaking to the Evening Standard however, Maya revealed that she actually became a millionaire two years ago, when she was just 24 years old.
After divulging that she bagged her millionaire status back in 2018, she joked to the publication: ‘They obviously only just checked my bank account.’

The last few years has been hugely successful for the star; she has fronted dating campaigns, deals with Coca Cola, a skincare range, clothing collaborations and further TV deals in the pipeline.
The Bristol native rose to fame when she dated Stormzy between 2015 and 2019. This helped build her reputation, going from hosting a show on community radio station Rinse FM in London to landing her own slot on Radio 1.
In 2017 she became the youngest person ever to co-host the Mobo Awards, and she has since appeared on the likes of MTV’s True Love Or True Lies, The Circle and Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer.
