I’m A Celebrity’s Sir Mo Farah and AJ Pritchard earn three stars in trial

I’m A Celebrity’s Sir Mo Farah and AJ Pritchard earned a meagre three stars during the Game Of Groans trial on Wednesday’s show.

The Olympic gold medallist, 37, and the dancer, 26, were tasked with remembering the symbols on the reverse of each number on a board of 16 shields, which they had to do while covered in bugs and spun around for 60 seconds.

While it seemed simple enough, the task was made more difficult when Declan Donnelly informed them they’d have to memorise the symbols while they were spinning around, and would be tested on it when they stopped.

AJ and Mo had three rounds, with two stars up for grabs in each round for a total of 6 stars which was worth a meal for the camp.

Ant McPartlin then informed them: ‘However it gets trickier because the position of the shields will change each round and it’s a Trial so there will be a few surprises along the way.’ 

Although he admitted his memory wasn’t great, AJ tried to stay cheerful as he claimed: ‘At this point I’m going to say a positive, yeah it’s great honestly we’re going to do well yeah.’

As they sat on their thrones, Mo looked terrified while stray bugs fell from above – prompting hysterical laughter from the two presenters.

‘I have to say, a nervous Mo is a very funny Mo,’ Ant told him by way of apology as the athlete squirms in the seat of his specially designed throne. 

However the former Strictly Come Dancing professional is left in a similar state as insects, brought in to drop on them as the game commences, prematurely fall on his head. 

‘This is gonna be brilliant!’ Ant screeches as the game got underway. 

The pair told Ant and Dec that AJ would focus on the top two lines, while Mo was in charge of remembering the bottom two.

While the dias started spinning the duo were covered in cockroaches, crickets, mealworms and maggots as they tried to memorise the positions of the shields.

But they failed to win any points in the first round as AJ was correct and Mo was wrong when they were asked the first question, and the reverse happened with the second question.

During the next round, Mo and AJ had to find matching pairs as more critters were dropped on them, and both got the questions correct so they won two stars.

After the shields moved around again the pair were spun around and asked a question, Mo go his wrong but AJ was right meaning they won another star, to get a total of three.
