Lil Wayne says that he had planned to take the stage at Mike Tyson’s fight broadcast on Triller in Los Angeles on Saturday, but it was thwarted by an ‘unrelated 3rd party.’

‘Unfortunately there was an unrelated 3rd party who attempted to insert themselves in the production process between the social app Triller and Lil Wayne the night before the event and the morning of and it unfortunately caused enough of an issue that Wayne couldn’t perform,’ the 36-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. and the platform told TMZ in a joint statement Monday.

Sources told the outlet that the Grammy Award-winning rap star – who owns a stake in Triller – traveled from Louisiana to Los Angeles to be at the Staples Center Saturday, where Tyson, 54, and Roy Jones Jr., 51, fought eight rounds to a draw in an exhibition fight.

An insider told TMZ that a producer for the show ‘interfered with Triller and Lil Wayne at the last minute trying to insert themselves and ended up creating a mess and all around confusion.’

The Uproar artist ‘at a certain point … got frustrated and decided it was best to pull out of the performance’ and ‘by the time Triller learned about the mess it was too late.’

The Love Me rapper told the outlet he ‘was truly disappointed [he] was precluded from performing by the 3rd party,’ while the platform said that Lil Wayne ‘will certainly be on Triller’s next fight card.’

Lil Wayne tweeted Saturday, ‘Due to unforeseeable circumstances I won’t be performing tonight at the Tyson/Jones fight. Hope the event is still a success and much love to Triller. Love Call me.’

He had previously said in a statement, ‘This event is going to go down in history, no doubt. I’m grateful to be a part of it and share the arena with two living legends. I’m stoked to perform and give the fans something they can rock to.’

The outing marked Tyson’s first appearance in the ring in 15 years, and he was grateful he finished the bout against his fellow boxing stalwart.

‘I’m happy I’m not knocked out – I’ll look better in the next one,’ he told the AP. adding that the proceeds were earmarked to charity.

He added: ‘This is better than fighting for championships. We’re humanitarians now. We can do something good for the world. We’ve got to do this again.’
